We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our department as Manager and Actuary (PAR and UL Management).


Principal Responsibilities

  • To assist the senior manager in all matters relating to the management of Par and Universal Life business from perspective of policyholders’ fairness
  • Provide support to regular sustainability of Policyholders’ dividend scale and general crediting rates monitoring, and to assist impact of the course of action. Responsible for the production of MI for dividend sustainability, Dividend on Deposit rate and General Crediting Rates for various committees, e.g. ALCO, Risk Committee, and With-profits Committee
  • To help the paper drafting and associated analysis for the dividend recommendation (annual and interim). 
  • To assist the running of the With-profits Committee, including the drafting of minutes. Help to address concerns of the attendees of WPC on key issues concerning policyholders’ fairness
  • To contribute towards response to customers’ enquiry and/or potential complaints
  • Be part of the working group to ensure effective implementation of dividend decision including careful review of the customer communication materials
  • University graduate in Actuarial Science, Risk Management or related discipline
  • Qualified or nearly qualified actuary in the Society of Actuaries or other equivalent actuarial organization
  • Solid experience in Par fund and Universal Life business is a plus
  • Ability to challenge practices and gain consensus between legacy approaches and/or conflicting priorities, excellent problem-solving and influencing skills
  • Ability to communicate with impact, with the capacity to ensure complex information is articulated in a meaningful way to a wide and varied audience
  • Fluent in written and spoken English and Chinese
  • Great sense of ownership and servicing mindset to ensure efficient and effective customer service processes
