Job description
  • Responsible for the profitability of all GPS products and services. This includes the planning, directing and organizing of GPS product management resources to ensure that they contribute to the overall objectives of GPS.
  • Formulates product strategies for the assigned product line in alignment with the overall GPS strategy.
  • Lead the GPS product portfolio with strong risk awareness, ensuring solutions are commercially competitive while align HSBC group’s risk policies.
  • By instilling a sense of ownership within the product team and ensuring that the product managers clearly understand their functions and responsibilities in achieving product success and profitability.
  • By institutionalizing a deliberate process within the product team to formulate product plans covering market segmentation, product positioning, competitive analysis, sales strategy, pricing strategy, and product development/enhancements plan.  Also providing clear direction, guidance and support to the product team on execution of the plan. 
  • Setting competitive pricing policies to maximize bottom line; conducting regular product reviews and implementing any required strategic and/or tactical solutions; working closely with the GPS Sales to define appropriate customer solutions.
  • Improve HSBC's profile, market share and 'share of mind' in the marketplace.
  • Internal/External Stakeholder Management – ensuring absence of blockages / inhibitors internally and externally.
  • In consultation with the product team in ASP GPS, develop plans to close local product gaps where possible to enhance our competitiveness.
  • By developing superior product features and participating in the development of complex solutions to meet customers' cash management needs/demand. 
  • By proactively engaging the corporate bankers to ensure that they understand the importance of GPS products and services to their customers' working capital needs and providing them with product training/updates to facilitate their core-sell activities.
  • By the active participation in and driving of key projects with the Bank of Thailand on behalf of foreign banks by way of local banking association(s).
  • By developing, managing and broadening relationships with key external stakeholders including regulatory bodies, external vendors, and bank and non-bank alliances.
  • By maintaining strong linkages to internal parties/product partners to ensure smooth inter-departmental relations – and necessary timely engagement with parties as required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in related field
  • Minimum 10  years of Cash Management experience, preferable 6 years in the area of product management
  • Possesses project and people management experience.
  • Strong consultative skill
  • Strong knowledge of banking products and systems
  • Effectively manage and balance pressure from clients, internal stakeholders, and governance functions in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrate strong commercial discipline in managing challenge budgets while delivering products/solutions to market within a reasonable time to market framework
  • Demonstrated ability to interact, communicate, negotiate and convince effectively at all levels both internally and externally
  • Excellent command of both spoken and written English
  • Fluency in both English and Thai (optional)
