Role purpose
The role holder will support the Financial Reporting Function to maximize the understanding of the financial data using focused analysis on IFRS reporting requirements for impairment, financial statements and disclosures, as well as the local disclosures. The candidate will be responsible of developing and executing analytical initiatives as directed considering Group and Local requirements for the financial reporting process, implement best solution within decision systems and satisfying user requirements and data quality management through the whole reporting process.
This individual will have a robust understanding of IFRS and local financial information requirements and will contribute to local and regionally projects related to this. The candidate will be responsible to address the business requirements to develop and manage the reporting infrastructure so that the production of information and reports are accurate, consistent and compliant with financial and regulatory consolidated reports.
This candidate will also be engaged with Regulatory Reporting
Main activities
Maintain reliable and dynamic systems that allow timely reflection of the requirements for analysis and presentation of information.
Apply the new initiatives of the HSBC Group that are relevant for the region/country and that can provide value added for Mexico - LATAM.
Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual reports to both the Group and the Local Regulators.
Management with various internal areas to ensure the correct and timely delivery of information, monthly and annual estimates, (for Mexico - LATAM)
Ensure the correct distribution of income by P&L line, business line and products in local systems.
Monitoring and remediation of data quality problems.
Identify initiatives to establish a more effective control environment to support the integrity of delivered results.
Identify and implement initiatives to generate efficiencies and anticipation within the current process
Support the head of the area on defining priorities and capacity of the team
Requirements
10 years experience in finance, accounting and / or risk at a financial institution.
Advanced or Fluent English
MS Office
SAS or similar (desirable)
Programming language SQL or Python (desirable)
Experience as a Data Analyst in a regulated industry (desirable)
Ability to work effectively under pressure with competing and rapidly changing priorities
Ability to develop cohesive working relationships with internal stakeholders
Ability to bring analytical rigor and structure and effective solutions to poorly-defined problems
Typical qualifications would include a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or Economics
Project Management knowledge (desirable)
