We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Senior Manager, Industry Relations, Hong Kong Business.
Principal Responsibilities
In this role you will
- Uphold HSBC’s role as the ‘Bank of Hong Kong’ and banking industry leader across wide range of external commitments, steering and shaping future industry direction for financial services in Hong Kong, e.g
- Participation in the Hong Kong Association of Banks as a Chairman Bank, including agenda setting, HKMA interface, consultations and internal mobilisation for industry initiatives
- Subject matter expertise, engagement and content preparation for CEO’s appointments on key industry bodies, including HKMA Committees, FSDC and HKTDC
- Representation as delegate of CEO for external meetings, conferences and roadshows representing HSBC
- Interface with key Hong Kong partners in promotion of Hong Kong SAR initiatives, e.g. InvestHK, OASES, HKSTP, Cyberport
- Management of HSBC participation in outbound and foreign inbound delegations
To be successful you will need
- Strong drive with a high degree of proactivity - able to work both independently and collaboratively across different levels of HSBC
- Very strong understanding of the banking industry in Hong Kong – capable of understanding implications of major policy developments to both HSBC and the industry at large
- Broad understanding of HSBC’s business and the external business and financial environment - able to engage on a wide range of topics across businesses, functions and regions
- Confidence to interface directly with internal and external senior executives
- Very strong written English communication skills
- Mandarin language skills required, additional Cantonese language skills are a benefit
