HSBC Wealth Management leads the Asia-Pacific implementation of our global strategy to deliver world-class solutions to retail and private clients seeking to grow, protect, preserve or transfer their wealth. This involves the development and management of needs-based solutions covering foreign exchange, deposit, investment, insurance and financing products, as well as the provision of suitable market insights and updates, financial planning and advisory services.

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Senior Marketing Manager Performance, Marketing.

Principal Responsibilities

The function focuses on understanding present and future customer needs, identification of market opportunities, development and execution of marketing strategies, and programmes. The ultimate goal is to drive improvements in HSBC brand equity and contribute to customer growth, revenue growth, increase customer value and satisfaction in order to meet agreed objectives and key results.

  • The primary accountability of this role it to manage and drive marketing performance improvement
  • Geographical Remit – Asia Pacific (cross line of business)
  • The role holder is accountable to the Regional Head of Marketing Performance & Planning
  • The role holder is responsible to the Regional Marketing Function in achieving their vision and objectives through marketing activity
  • The role holder will deliver this through active performance management & analysis within ASP Marketing function
  • The role holder must support achievement of the HSBC vision, values, goals and culture in personal behaviour, actions and decision making

Governance and Committee Memberships (membership of ExCos, Risk Management Meeting)

  • Working Groups related to Marketing Performance
  • The role is not part of any EXCO/ MANCO

Accountabilities for Business, Customers and Stakeholders

  • Lead Performance and Enablement tasks at a regional or market level
  • Drive all Marketing Performance projects implementation at a regional or market level
  • Lead all Marketing Performance analysis & optimization for ASP Marketing
  • Marketing performance management and liaison with Finance, Analytic & Business (cross line of business)
  • Data management counterpart of Group Marketing COO team (TBC)

KPIs will include, and not restricted to

  • Marketing performance improvement (ROMI and other business outcome)
  • On time delivery of marketing performance related projects in line with function requirements and line manager’s objectives
  • Data management related KPI (TBC)

Leadership & Teamwork 

  • Act as marketing performance consultants for WPB & B2B
  • Be the one point contact for Global Marketing COO function on all Marketing Performance related issues
  • Collaborate with country Marketing Programme teams to drive marketing performance
  • Be able to leverage Finance, Analytic & other functions to drive Marketing Performance recommendation/ optimisation
  • Encourage and enable constructive cross-country and cross-business collaboration
  • Demonstrate Customer Centricity by thinking and acting beyond product sales
  • Adopt and champion the agile ways of working in marketing and participate in business value streams/ cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrate and champion a speak-up culture by challenging actions and behaviours that are not consistent with HSBC's policies and/or the best interests of the business and its customers
Requirements

Requirements

  • Modern Marketing professional with understanding of latest developments in the marketing and media world
  • Have depth of both classical and contemporary channels
  • Have a penchant for learning
  • Understand the use of data and analytics in deriving customer value
  • Be passionate about the customer and be obsessed with customer outcomes
  • Degree level qualification in finance, analytic and/or business studies related discipline preferred
  • Broad based business experience within a Financial Service based institution, or an innovative customer/service based institution
  • Solid understanding of Marketing Performance management
  • Project management experience is a plus
  • Evidence of team leadership attributes. Experience and evidence of working within teams over multiple sites in a highly matrixed organization
  • Result-orientated and solution driven
  • Able to influence at senior level to drive improvement. Proven ability to influence leadership teams
  • Proven ability to be a self-starter with energy and drive in a challenging and dynamic environment
  • Ability to think innovatively, shaping and communicating new concepts
  • Ability to bring key stakeholders and Functional colleagues with them as marketing strategies and plans are developed
  • Ability to distil complex business and customer environment into simple, strategically sound and insight led stories
