We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Senior Planning Manager- GCOO.

Our Real Estate Services team focuses on ensuring that Real Estate is a key business enabler, through the adoption of innovative and forward-thinking initiatives relating to the portfolio which is duly supportive of the overarching Bank strategy across Portfolio & Workplace, Workforce Strategy, FM Solutions, Health & Safety, Retail Solutions, Sustainability, Critical Facilities and Risk Management.

In this role you will: 

  • Work as part of a Market team and be responsible for the effective financial planning and reporting of the Real Estate (RE) function
  • Plan and deliver an accurate Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and rolling forecasting process for the Market, aligned to the regional/global RE strategy, and by working closely with regional and global RE and Finance teams
  • Have an in depth understanding of the RE MI system to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the data and is responsible for ensuring planning and forecasting submissions within the CS MI and Finance systems are fully reconciled by working with both the RE and Finance teams
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of RE expenditure and recharges and will produce timely and insightful management information for the RE and Market COO, Business Partners and Finance, based on data from CS and Finance systems, to support decision making
  • Work with finance teams to ensure RE finances are managed in a robust, consistent and compliant manner, particularly in areas such as vacant space provisioning, accruals, depreciation, rent free amortization and net book values
Requirements

To be successful you will need: 

  • An analytical background and proven ability in financial planning, including being able to contextualise financial data into business activities and conclusions
  • Knowledge of HSBC’s financial systems and reporting
  • Experience in:
    • development of reports
    • implementation of financial procedures, and
    • using financial data to support commercial decision making
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all work outputs
  • Ability to link Function’s strategic objectives to day to day financial management
  • Highly organised with ability to prioritise a varied and demanding workload
  • Proven project management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and team player
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced, high profile environment.
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to talk to suppliers, stakeholders, colleagues both over the phone and face to face
