We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Systems Engineer to join our Hybrid Integration Platform/ CTO Enterprise Infrastructure team. In this role you can demonstrate your passionate for  Hybrid Integration Platform technologies and eagerness to develop your skills in a hands-on environment. You will support the Hybrid Integration Platform internal cloud infrastructure, ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of our cloud services.

As our Senior Systems Engineer you will:

  • Support and Maintenance: Assist in the management, maintenance, and monitoring of the HSBC’s internal cloud infrastructure, including virtual machines, storage, and networking resources
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues related to cloud services and infrastructure. Collaborate with senior engineers to troubleshoot and implement solutions
  • Automation: Develop and implement automation scripts and tools to improve efficiency and reduce manual tasks.
  • Security: Assist in implementing and maintaining security measures to protect cloud resources and data
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of cloud infrastructure, processes, and procedures
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other IT team members and departments to understand their cloud service needs and provide technical support
  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated on the latest cloud technologies and best practices. Participate in training and professional development opportunities.

For this role, HSBC targets a pay range between  $100,400.00 and  $150,600.00

The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

Requirements

You´ll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., GCP- Professional Cloud Architect, AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals) are a plus
  • Some experience or internship in cloud computing, IT support, or a related field is preferred
  • 4+ years of strong practical experience with Cloud in Production Environment with an understanding of Public and Private Cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, Azure, VMWare vSphere
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware ESXi, Hyper-V, KVM) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Knowledge of networking principles (e.g., SDN- Cisco ACI, TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, NGINX)
  • Experience with DevOps/Automation tools like Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Jenkins, CI/CD, GitHub etc
  • Basic knowledge on shell scripting (e.g., Python, Bash) and of Monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk)
  • Hands on experience with collaborations tools (Microsoft Teams, Jira, Confluence etc.)
  • Good analytical & logical skills with the ability to multi task
  • Ability to work independently, take responsibility and be a self-learner
  • Interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in an international environment and across cultures
  • Capability to work under time and stress pressure, continuously provide high quality of service and ensure compliance with internal policies
