The global HSBC Infrastructure Finance (HIF) team, comprised of Infrastructure Finance and Export Finance product verticals, provides a full suite of financing solutions to corporates, financial sponsors, financial institutions and governments in a variety of sectors. The Export Finance team in Dubai has the responsibility for originating, structuring and executing Export Credit Agencies (ECA) transactions in the MENAT region. The team conducts business in close collaboration with HSBC’s global Export Finance network and Banking coverage teams in HSBC presence markets throughout MENAT. 
HIF is seeking an ambitious individual to join the team as a Vice President with origination, structuring and arranging experience in ECA financing to support the growing business across MENAT. This position will report to the Head of Export Finance, MENAT.

In this role, the key responsibilities will include:
• Lead structuring and execution of ECA financing transactions with corporate and Government borrowers. Collaborate with the Infrastructure Finance product vertical and lead execution of ECA-related elements of limited/non-recourse project finance transactions.
• Take part in origination of ECA transactions and assume a country coverage responsibility within the team. 
• Collaborate effectively across multi-functional teams to deliver HSBC’s universal banking product range to clients, maximizing cross-sell opportunities.
• Conduct industry and company-specific research and share market trends, knowledge and ideas with the relevant teams.
• Facilitate a variety of deliverables, including pitch books, letters of interest, term sheets, mandate letters, due diligence, credit applications, and facility documentation, including coordination with internal stakeholders on transaction specific matters (legal, compliance, risk, sustainability and reputational risk, markets sales etc.).
• Assist the team with reporting or Management Information requests.
• Contribute to the continuous development of junior team members through active knowledge sharing, mentoring, training and through optimal level of delegation.
• Originate syndication and distribution opportunities for Export Finance transactions in the region.
• Negotiate facility documentation with clients and counterparties, in close liaison with other teams.
• Conduct due diligence of environmental and social aspects of Export Finance transactions in accordance with international standards, in coordination with other teams, including HIF Sustainability Specialists.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
• Understand, and ensure compliance with, all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which the jobholder is involved.
• Maintain HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
• Undertake all required activities as directed by the line managers or as agreed in annual objectives in support of the HIF business.
• Uphold the highest level of integrity and act as a role model for all HSBC values and business principles.


Requirements

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:
• Strong experience in banking / infrastructure finance, with relevant experience in ECA financing of at least 4 years. 
• Demonstrated track-record in structuring and execution of ECA transactions, understanding of ECA’s motivations, policies and procedures.
• Experience with transactions in the MENAT region; understanding of the local infrastructure financing market and relevant stakeholders.
• Excellent verbal and written communication (in English) and interpersonal skills, with ability to influence stakeholders within and outside the organization.
• Advanced analytical & presentational skills, proficiency in MS Office (word, excel and power point).
• Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Arabic will be an advantage.
• Graduation degree is a must – to secure a UAE Visa and Work Permit
