Our technology teams in the UK work closely with HSBC’s global businesses to help design and build digital services that allow our millions of customers around the world, to bank quickly, simply, and securely. We also run and manage our IT infrastructure, data centers and core banking systems that power the world’s leading international bank. Our multi-disciplined teams include DevOps Engineers, IT Architects, Front and Back-End Developers, Infrastructure specialists, Cyber experts, as well as Project and Program Managers.
As our eTrading KDB Developer you will:
- Work with KDB Framework and liaise with business/traders/quants to develop enhancements and deliver automation
- Troubleshoot issues faced by quants/traders in a real time trading environment
- Delivery of new functionality to the KDB data analytics platform, infrastructure, as well as provide support directly to the Fixed Income E-Trading/Sales/Quant desks
- Contribute and own projects delivering enhancements & stability improvements on behalf of the business teams
- The build and maintenance of tools, to industrialize support of a cutting-edge in-house trading platform
- Constantly challenging and seeking new areas for automation of manual tasks from the global team
- Working with the traders and quants- analyzing requirements real time from users and technical support colleagues, designing and prototyping solutions, through to testing and deployment
- Work with systems development teams ensuring best design, deployment, capacity, and operability
- Working with the quants- analyzing requirements real time from users and technical support colleagues, designing and prototyping solutions, through to testing and deployment
- Ownership of problems to complete resolution
The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

You´ll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:
- Strong KDB and Q language skills to handle time series data
- Experience with end-to-end KDB solutions (Infrastructure as a Code included)
- Experience of designing KDB plants
- Knowledge of Fixed Income business, products, and markets
- Can operate at a KDB Advisory level
- You’ve been involved within complex programs / multiple projects across multiple work streams / global locations
- Involved with plans, risk & issues, and dependencies
- Excellent communication skills & ability to influence project design and scope
- Excellent senior stakeholder management & change management skills
- Ownership of problems to complete solution, requirement gathering and cross project engagements
- Work with systems development teams ensuring best design, deployment, capacity, and operability
- Experience in automating the delivery pipelines and building a self-resilient platform
