The Opportunity:
Role purpose (overall high level summary of the role):
- The MI Reporting Job family involves the design, development and reporting of management information on a timely basis, which helps the business managers of the Global functions drive informed decisions. The job family requires the incumbent to plan & execute the assigned projects/ analysis per agreed timelines and with high levels of accuracy & quality. MI Reporting job family requires access to various databases and tracking the performance of business metrics, trend analysis etc. and transforming the information into meaningful dashboards and or reports for the consumption of senior management.
Governance and Committee Memberships (membership of ExCos, Risk Management Meeting)
- The role will be an integral part of Risk Management meeting for various entities including Group and regions.
What you’ll do:
Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities (e.g., for Business, Customers and Stakeholders; internal control environment, etc.)
- Preparation of the Risk Management Meeting (RMM) Packs and other Risk Reports catering to various Risk sub-functions, Regulatory Risk Reporting etc.
- High quality commentaries, accurate minutes of high-profile meetings
- For Meeting Packs Reporting - drive Agenda preparation & review with CRO’s, draft minutes of meetings and confirm attendance/delegation, follow-up on actions from previous meetings etc.
- Create, manage, control, and publish reporting for internal and external stakeholders, including production of regulatory reporting.
- Collect, extract, evaluate and analyze submissions to identify errors, review and Challenge the submissions
- Communicate progress against plan effectively detailing barriers, concerns and potential solutions;
- Escalate key issues in an effective way to ensure timely resolution
- Analyze Reporting packs across regions to foster process improvement, consistency in approaches and standardization
- Developing inferences and insights around different Business Metrics for Management Reporting

- Maintain relationships and work well with peers and seniors
- Actively seeks input from others wherever applicable - encourages and listens to different viewpoints and perspectives
What you will need to succeed in the role:
Functional Knowledge
- Ability to manage migration of processes and exposure to diverse/multi-culture work environments & geographies
- Ability to understand and comprehend business discussions for effective minute writing
- Ability to write crisp and effective business commentaries / minutes related to risk & financial affairs
- Knowledge of BASEL regulations and BCBS 239 PERDARR would be beneficial
Others
- Master’s degree in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Commerce or any other numerical discipline
- 2+ years of relevant work experience in Banking, Risk Reporting & Analysis, Risk management or governance. Knowledge and understanding of financial services preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with an ability to grasp new concepts quickly
- Strong communication and presentation skills along with good organizational, analytical, problem solving skills as the role requires regular dealing and relationship management with senior executives from within the HSBC Group like CROs, COO’s etc.
- Excellent command over English (written and verbal) and a demonstrable ability to express complex ideas in simple words.
- Knowledge in MS Office Suite, MS PowerPoint & Excel / VBA is mandatory
- Practical and theoretical knowledge of programming tools, preferably with proficiency in any one or combination of tools such as Qliksense, Tableau, Qlikview etc. would be beneficial.
