It provides support to various business groups and the job involves data analysis, model and strategy development & implementation, Business Intelligence, reporting and data management

Global Business/Global Function

  • Wealth and Personal Banking is our new global business combining Retail Banking and Wealth Management; and Global Private Banking, to become one of the world’s largest global wealth managers with USD1.4 trillion in assets.   • WPB business team will leverage richer analytics-driven insights to enable a more personalized approach to targeting and engaging with consumers. From location-based offers to improved service delivery, WPB business will use spending patterns, product use, and channel interactions to enable improved experience-driven banking. WPB business to provide employees with contextual data for smarter consumer engagement and provide management with robust analytics (customer interaction, attrition, loyalty, cost analysis and transactional and behavioral analysis) for ongoing decision-making and also for mitigating regulatory risk. WPB analytics team provide support 30+ markets globally

Global Business/Global Function - Sub-Function (Ex : CDO, CCS, DDS,…) :

WPB Product Analytics team provides action oriented insights across all lifecycles of products like acquisition, portfolio management and retention. Insights using spending patterns, product usage and channel interactions enable business a more personalized approach to targeting and engaging with consumers resulting in improved experience-driven banking. These solutions yield higher x-sell opportunity and revenue for the bank, increase loyalty and mitigate losses by smarter consumer engagement

What you’ll do:

  • Business Consulting job family is structured to address end-to-end business needs. Members of this Job Family are differentiated by their capability of providing the required consultation & work with end-business by way of assessing the requirements, identifying the right analytical solution that can solve for the business problem, and developing the same for execution – often covering areas of business growth, improving customer experience, limiting risk exposure, enhancing internal business processes etc.,. They are required to, as necessary, embed agile & exploratory practices into their approach as needed, and retain the flexibility to change track to adopt other solutions based on changed scenarios, in order to deliver on effective results. This talent group can be tapped into for providing solutions for varying areas including improving existing processes, technology and approaches by embedding exploratory & analytics & taking it forward with a consulting mind set.
  • Sees the 'bigger picture' and assesses relationships between recommended analytical solutions / projects and business performance. Good understanding of business domain, functional goals, and the required technical expertise
  • Owns delivery of high quality analytical solutions for the business stakeholders across one of more regions
  • Partner with functional business leaders in developing & owning analytical strategies / decision making to achieve a higher value.
  • Translate key analytical solutions as generic and re-deployable across regions / markets
  • Provides actionable analytical solutions for business problems with clear articulation of recommendations
  • Supports innovative analytical thinking & solutions that results into improved business performance
  • Role will be required to identify and drive liabilities pricing and product strategy in the UK market with end to end ownership directly with local business. If candidate has experience in assets analytics, he can be accommodated accordingly as well.
  • This role will be in Product and Pricing Analytics specifically for liabilities and some forex analytics.  If candidate has experience in assets analytics, he can be accommodated accordingly as well.
  • This role will entail project managing and managing in the area of Liability product covering CASA TD and Overdrafts and Liability pricing and also some forex for the UK portfolio. Similar position is available in Secured Lending Analytics.

Others:

  • The candidate is expected to work on UK liability and forex business by product and channel
  • Incorporate changes in pricing model methodologies and framework with evolving regulatory environment
  • Lead Liability product engagement through in-depth understanding of customers’ transactional activities on CASA and TD and help build future product strategies
  • Provide thought leadership & drive analytics support in areas of customer retention through complaints Management and early detection of customer inactivity basis decay in customers’ transactional activities and thereby help handling customer inactivity and dormancy per RBWM FIM C2.1.4 which is one of the key areas of focus
  • Representing GAC (UK) in multiple Global work-streams/specialisms and drive standardized analytical solution and work towards implementation of the same across other markets.
  • Lead streamline initiatives and Cost save opportunities for analytics as well as Business counterparts in areas of product analytics domain

Management of Risk/Internal Controls/Compliance:

  • The jobholder will continually reassess the operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructurings, and the impact of new technology.
  • The jobholder will also adhere to and be able to demonstrate adherence to internal controls. This will be achieved by adherence to all relevant procedures, keeping appropriate records and, where appropriate, by the timely implementation of internal and external audit points, including issues raised by external regulators.
  • The jobholder will implement the Group compliance policy by containing compliance risk in liaison with Global Head of Compliance, Global Compliance Officer, Area Compliance Officer or Local Compliance Officer. The term ‘compliance’ embraces all relevant financial services laws, rules and codes with which the business has to comply.
  • This will be achieved by adhering to all relevant processes/procedures and by liaising with Compliance department about new business initiatives at the earliest opportunity. Also and when applicable, by ensuring adequate resources are in place and training is provided, fostering a compliance culture and optimising relations with regulators.
Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:

  • Minimum 6 years of experience of using numbers to solve complex business problems
  • Minimum 2-3 years of Hands on experience in Pricing and Product Analytics is preferred. Also general banking experience with focus on product analyics - assets or liabilities would be preferred. Pricing Analytics experience in the area of deposits balance and revenue management is critical to play this role successfully.
  • Understanding of Baking product business
  • Business problem solving skill is essential
  • Proven experience in handling output that directly impacts customers/regulators
  • Collaborate with partners across business groups, evaluate emerging techniques that may contribute to existing analytics capabilities and computational models.
  • Proven expertise in building statistical and (or) ML for solving diverse business challenges and creating significant business value would be a plus but not mandatory
  • At least Master's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Finance, Management or other quantitative fields of study
  • Numercial skills in any of the below SAS, C++, Python, R, SQL, Excel etc. would be essential
  • Knowledge and exposure to cloud analytics platform such as GCP, AWS Redshift , Azure etc. would be a plus but not mandatory
  • Enthusiasm for proactively seeking, exploring and developing use cases for new data and/or tools/wider industry trends
  • Strong business acumen with out-of-the box thinking to drive improved business performance
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and seamless delivery of analytics initiatives across markets
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to develop and effectively communicate complex concepts and ideas
  • Support in developing contact strategy for unsecured business through development of model/triggers/segmentation
  • Helping in migrating from legacy environment to cloud architecture for the unsecured business
