The job responsibilities include data analysis, Collections strategy development and implementation, monitoring and validation. This forms the basis for strategic planning by the senior management for businesses and enables effective decision making to satisfy business needs and requirements along with addressing unforeseen challenges.

  • Decision Model Development is a key functional area within WPB (Wealth & Personal Banking) Retail Risk Analytics. The function supports development of various decision models for use in customer on boarding as well as customer management. The function explores avenues of new analytical techniques and additional data sources in order to continuously evolve the quality of decision being made through the models.

  • The work that the HBUK Decision Modelling team does is pretty varied and spans from developing scorecards to developing machine learning models to ad-hoc analysis including detailed Bureau data understanding. The team offers a wide array of exposure to various UK portfolios, stake holders as well as modelling methodologies and tools. In addition, you get to work with a team of highly motivated individuals in a positive and fun team environment where every day is full of challenges but fun and rewarding at the same time.

The Opportunity:

  • The incumbent would be responsible to develop Machine Learning Models and socialize and explain them to a technical as well as non- technical audience to gain buy-in and approvals.

  • Ensure strict adherence to all applicable internal and external standards.

  • Ability to understand business partner’s problems and provide appropriate technical solutions, develop strong business relationships with the concerned regional and country teams

  • Ability to coordinate with various risk functions to gain business insight, improve productivity by streamlining processes, assure quality deliverables

  • The incumbent would be expected to effectively explain the trends, adding meaningful insights on the back of relevant business knowledge

  • Identify opportunities for standardization of analytical processes to bring in effectiveness and efficiency gain. Ensure quality of deliverables and improve documentation.

  • Creating requirements document for dashboard design and co-ordinate with stakeholders and get sign-off on the requirements.

  • Create a suitable data model for the dashboard.

  • Design professionally looking and functioning dashboards including the various interactions of the measures, deep dives and slicing of the data to cater to the end user needs.

  • Conduct/help in reconciliation and validation of the numbers

  • Support Source to Target transformation team in defining elements and creating tables to use in the dashboard.

  • Provide the Nprinting solutions for the dashboards as required by Business teams both regional and group.

  • Own the solutions and see that smooth delivery and function of the dashboards.

  • Guide and mentor juniors. Provide handholding till up to speed. Provide technical trainings as needed and required by the function.

  • Conduct trainings as appropriate to business in the use of the dashboards

What you’ll do:

  • As an expert in Nprinting you would be creating professionally appealing dashboards to cater the Risk needs across group and regions.

  • Create optimized data model to enhance the positive experience of the end users.

  • Extracting the data using Qlik sense and model to create the dashboards from various sources like hive, sas, Big Query, flat files & excel et cetera

  • Developing and deploying Nprinting solutions in excel, power point etc in the required format.

Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:

Skills/Experience Required

  • At least a Bachelor’s degree in mathematics/ statistics/ economics/Engineering or equivalent; Master’s degree is desirable

  • Experience of having worked for 2-3 years in a similar role

  • Good understanding of Machine Learning Algorithms

  • Excellent knowledge of R,Python

  • Relevant experience in analytics specifically in the fields like Credit Risk Modelling, Credit Risk Strategy Development, Loss Forecasting / Reserving, Marketing analytics etc would be preferred

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Strong analytical skills with an ability to grasp new concepts quickly

  • Experience working with Advance SAS, SAS E-miner, VBA, Excel, MS Office and BI Tools.

What additional skills will be good to have?

  • The successful candidate is expected to have a good working knowledge and delivery experience preferably within a Banking MI and Data Risk systems environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work independently, as well as work collaboratively with other teams, some of which may be geographically distributed.

  • Proven problem solving and analytical abilities including the ability to critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details and apply sound business and technical domain knowledge.

  • Knowledge of the reporting approaches to Risk Management Information.

  • Experience of large global system infrastructure projects a business change environment and good understanding of data infrastructure and architecture would be an advantage. The latter may include exposure to solution or enterprise architecture.

  • Experience of process re-engineering and process management.

  • Experience with various extensions on the Qlik environment.

  • Communicate openly and honestly. Advanced oral, written and visual communication and presentation skills - the ability to communicate efficiently at a global level is paramount.

  • Ability to deliver materials of the highest quality to management against tight deadlines.

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure with competing and rapidly changing priorities.
