This role will sit in the REMIND Finance Change Delivery work-stream. This work-stream is responsible for building primary and supplementary reporting rules, manage reference data and support change management. 

What you’ll do:

  • Participate and represent REMIND Finance CD in Finance Changes and Business Initiatives projects like TTP (Trade transformation project), Power card migration for HBAP countries etc.
  • Review Group finance change requests for new accounting and regulatory standards, evaluate the reporting requirement from IFRS, FINREP, HKMA perspective, perform enterprise-wide Impact analysis and create / update rules in REMIND system along with ensuring effective implementation.
  • Assist in designing solutions to align with future Finance systems footprint and work with business stakeholders to ensure their needs are met.
  • Drive and provide REMIND Subject Mater Expert support to all HBAP REMIND user entities.
  • Conduct and signoff User Acceptance Test (UAT) on REMIND system enhancements. Provide post-implementation health checks and support.
  • Bridging communications between Financial Controls, Process Owners, Finance COOs in Regions, Accounting Policy and Finance Sub Functions, Finance & REMIND / HUB IT Teams.
  • Execute Senior Management’s strategies / plans to improve framework control streamline processes, and implementation of automated controls.
  • Maintain REMIND Interface logic and build SQL/system queries to extract interface data and assist users in financial reporting.
  • Support site Finance teams on REMIND queries and share best practices to optimize REMIND to support financial/regulatory reporting.
  • Work with various finance platforms and modern technologies, participate in the change management / migration planning.
Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:

  • Qualifications: C.A/ MBA/B Com./M Com.- Strong in financial accounting fundamentals
  • Experience: Overall 12+ years with 7+ years of professional experience in Finance Systems Implementation projects
  • Knowledge of Ledger Systems is desirable. Preference would be given to persons with Reporting /Accounting experience or capability to interpret line finance work easily in the banking domain.
  • Working Knowledge of Group Operating Chart of Accounts (GOCA) or Group Reporting Chart of Accounts is preferred.
  • Experience in managing, negotiating, and influencing senior business relationships across geographies.
  • Business change management experience, ability to drive change projects and device solutions in a finance environment.
  • Ability to create top quality & detailed documentation to facilitate meetings/training/operating models.
  • Complex analytical reasoning skills enabling appraisal of the Global & Regional reporting requirements and translate into functional requirements for to-be operating model.
  • Must have strong functional leadership skills and ability to deal with complex issues such as escalations and need for confidentiality.
  • Ability to manage daily deliverables with team and coach/guide as and when required to improve performance.
  • Strong communication skills and an ability to communicate complex ideas in a simple manner to a global audience.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills with ability to adapt to changing situations and to understand issues quickly.
  • Good working knowledge in usage of MS Office tools including MS Visio.
  • Role model in the department reflecting HSBC values and behaviours.
