  • Stress testing is a vital component in assessing the bank’s vulnerabilities, determining capital adequacy and thereby the resilience of the bank through improved risk and capital management. The role holder will have the responsibility for maintaining processes within the bank.
  • Change Delivery drives the BAU projects and any transformation opportunities from inception through to benefits realization for both internal customers and regulators, including the PRA, FRB, HKMA and EBA.
  • Significant changes will be required in the Operational Model (Organization & Governance, Process and Systems) across a number of work streams to deliver these stages.

The Opportunity:

  • BAU Change Support – Finance Change framework supporting change delivery lifecycle covering prioritization, management of book of work, design & development, testing and deployment into production. This also includes stakeholder management including business, finance, DBS, FSO, data and source teams.
  • MALC – The Management Actions Library is the Group RRP Office’s strategic IT solution for storing details of all Management Actions across MLEs and Group. It will feed data to the Management Actions Calculator, within which recovery strategies can rapidly be developed in response to scenarios.

What you’ll do:

Business Analysis

  • Engage with stakeholders: Conduct regular discussions with business and operations stakeholders to gather, validate and refine system requirements for MALC
  • Document Requirements: prepare detailed Business Requirement Document (BRDs), user stories or functional specifications that are clear and developer friendly
  • Requirements Translation: Break down high-level business needs into granular, actionable items that can be easily understood and implemented by the DBS team
  • Act as a system SME: Serve as the subject matter expert for the MALC system, ensuring process alignment, system behavior understanding and regulatory compliance
  • Developer Collaboration: Participate in technical discussions with the DBS team to clarify requirements and provide context, ensuring accurate implementation
  • Scrum Participation: Actively take part in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog grooming, and retrospective to track progress and remove blockers
  • Change Impact Analysis: Assess the impact of new change requests or enhancements on existing MALC functionalities and communicate risks or dependencies
  • Test Script Execution: Design and document comprehensive functional test cases and scenarios based on approved requirements to ensure thorough testing coverage
  • Functional Test Execution: Perform hands-on system testing for delivered features, validating functionality against requirements, and ensuring data integrity
  • Defect Management: Log, track, and retest defects; work closely with DBS team to ensure timely resolution and accurate fixes
  • Stakeholders Sign-Off: Facilitate UAT planning and coordination with stakeholders, assisting them during testing and capturing feedback for production readiness
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify gaps or inefficiencies in the current MALC tool and the process to propose enhancements or automation opportunities
  • Support Production Readiness: Assist in preparing release documents, user guides, and deployment documentation for smooth production rollout

Training and Support

  • Participate in preparation and execution of user training
  • Support the project manager with risk identification, risk reporting and project risks mitigation
  • Facilitate conversations with external vendors and service providers
  • Contribute to impact assessment activities and work effort assessments
Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree
  • Relevant professional qualification desirable e.g. Prince 2, MSP, Prosci, APMG change management practitioner
  • Proven and progressive experience in operating model design, process design, organisation development or change management roles within private sector businesses
  • Proven experience in delivering complex, large-scale change within a financial services environment and an appreciation of regulatory and compliance imperative
  • Practical understanding of software development lifecycles and methods, including requirements definition and testing in both waterfall and Agile environments
  • Proven leadership track record in dynamic environments, with the ability to support & direct large teams with diverse backgrounds and skill sets, both locally and offshore and to maintain a global perspective
  • Demonstrated excellent portfolio management skills and ability to develop project plans and manage complex projects which span organisation boundaries
  • Strong management, decision-making, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills including the ability to listen to and influence stakeholders at all levels, and to build consensus among a wide range of internal and external customers with conflicting priorities
  • Proven ability to provide expert leadership to continuously improve areas of practice.

What additional skills will be good to have?

  • Understanding of processes and systems used in the stress testing process
  • Experience in SPST Reporting requirements and SPST System teams
  • Technical expertise of VB and Macros is preferable
  • Exposure to Accounting, Financial Systems Support, Systems Development and Project Management.
  • Excellent MS Excel skills
