The Opportunity:

• Are you passionate about cutting-edge technologies and driving innovation? This role offers a unique opportunity to advance Generative AI model development, Business Intelligence solutions and Agentic AI.  We are hiring for individuals with overall 10+ years of experience in Data Science and Analytics.
• We take a customer centric and consultative approach to develop business insights that that help HSBC’s senior leaders answer business critical questions such as:
• How do we drive efficiency in our supply chain? 
• How do we more effectively manage risk in our supply chain e.g. concentration risk and horizon scan?
• How do we partner with our suppliers to drive towards net-zero?
  What you’ll do: 
• Engaging our stakeholders to help capture & refine requirements, ideate, design & deliver AI, Analytics & BI use cases, followed by transitioning to BAU & delivering ongoing product enhancements 
• Performing strategic analysis of structured and unstructured data across multiple data sources, validating information, using judgment and statistical tests
• Develop data structures and pipelines to organize, collect, cleanse, and standardising data to generate actionable insights and address reporting needs
• Design and Deploy cutting edge QlikSense dashboards that really wow our customers with strong visual appeal, usability and business impact
• Design, develop, and fine-tune Generative AI models for various use cases such as text generation, summarization, and image generation (optional) and more
• Ensure ethical AI practices and bias mitigation in AI models
• Work closely and collaboratively with other functions within BI & Analytics to assess the scalability of analytical opportunities and further development into production-level solutions

What you will need to succeed in the role:

Functional Skills:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability with clear business orientation
• Ability to assess stakeholder needs, prioritize requirements, and deliver best in class solutions
• Capable of developing subject matter expertise in complex areas with a consultative and customer centric approach
• Ability to prioritize business engagement priorities while balancing delivery requirements

Technical Skills:

• Cloud Platform: GCP, Big Query, DataProc, Dataflow, Data Fusion, Dataplex and Vertex AI
• BI & Visualization: QlikSense Dashboard (designing, deploying and scaling)
• ML/NLP Expertise: NLP Techniques, Time Series, Supervised, Unsupervised and reinforcement learning
• Programming and AI/ML: Python (advanced), TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, Plotly Dash etc
• Generative AI: RAG, LLM (fine tuning approaches), Prompt Engineering, Understanding of Multi-model ecosystem, Model evaluation,
• Model Explainability tools and model interpretability frameworks.
• Vector Databases: FAISS, Pinecone, Weaviate etc
• Agentic AI (optional): Exposure to frameworks like Langchain, Langgraph, llamaindex, Auto gen, CrewAI

Soft Skills and Competencies:

• Proactive, collaborative and goal-oriented mindset.
• Resiliency under pressure and flexibility in problem-solving.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; business English proficiency is a must.
• Ability to assess stakeholder needs, prioritize requirements, and deliver best in class solutions.

Experience and Qualifications:

• 10+ years of Experience in Data Science and Analytics
• 1+ years of experience in Generative AI/LLM based development (prompt engineering, RAG etc.)
• 5+ years of experience in machine learning (supervised, unsupervised, reinforcement learning etc.)
• 7+ years of experience in data preprocessing, feature engineering and working with large datasets.
• Proven ability in design production grade AI and BI solutions.

Nice to have:

• Advanced Programming skills in Python with hands-on experience in at least one Agent framework (Lang Chain, Lang Graph, Llama index, Auto Gen, Crew AI)
• Demonstrated passion for research and innovation, ability to take initiative and work independently
• Adoption and flexibility towards team and business priorities and creative approach towards complex problems.
