This function brings together distinct specialisms to drive greater connectivity in how we manage engagement with key stakeholders for HSBC.

  • Finance teams provide the bank with internal and external financial reporting, forecasting, controls oversight and stress testing expertise. Specialist areas also manage HSBC’s worldwide tax affairs, group treasury needs, and events for investors and analysts.
  • Sustainability teams lead the bank’s work to support sustainable growth in a global economy, including an ambitious plan to prioritise financing that supports the transition to net zero.
  • Group External Communications teams – including colleagues from Media Relations, ESG Communications and Group Reputation –?deliver communication strategies that support HSBC’s strategic objectives, protect our reputation and build trust among our stakeholders.

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as an Actuarial Analyst.

Principal Responsibilities

In this role you will

  • Support local entities to identify high risks area, provide insightful analysis and commentary on business performance and financial reports and make recommendations where appropriate
  • Work collaboratively with delivery partners and subject matter experts to design and optimization of existing reporting workflows
  • Support key insurance strategy and initiatives as the subject matter expert
  • Support senior management to perform insightful analysis, commentary on business performance and financial reports as well as product prcing review
  • Establish effective communication channels and coordinate implementation with key stakeholders (i.e. Actuarial, Finance, Risk) within HSBC Groups
Requirements

To be successful you will need

  • To work independently, analytically and innovatively
  • To meet tight deadline as set by the group and regulation without compromising quality
  • To be able to explain technically complicated to stakeholders in non-technical language
  • To keep up-to-date on the latest development in financial reporting, auditing requirement, regulatory and actuarial techniques
  • To be influential to other stakeholders including local actuarial teams and be able to drive best practices
  • Continuous review on process and workflow to enhance efficiency and control
  • Strong project management skills
