What you’ll do:
- Support IB COO teams at a regional, product, sector and global level to improve the overall business by providing strategic insights using tools and data available.
- Monitor IB business performance, including performance against the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), intensity measures and missed/lost business process.
- Ensure effective and globally consistent application of business selection processes, pipeline management and cross business collaborations.
- Production of IB specific management information, working with Finance, leveraging globally consistent processes, metrics and data sources where available.
- Develop and structure a central repository for receiving and storing MI from across the Investment Banking products, both quantitative & qualitative.
- Support a number of workstreams related to transformation and strategic projects of importance to drive the IB business strategy.
- Assist in the follow up and management of action points to ensure initiatives are clearly accounted for, priorities set & objectives met.

Strategic Planning and Execution:
- Develop, refine, and implement the strategic roadmap for IB, ensuring alignment with broader firm goals.
- Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, market trends, and competitive dynamics to drive growth.
- Collaborate with product teams, coverage groups, and other stakeholders to design and execute initiatives.
Market and Competitive Analysis:
- Conduct in-depth market research and competitor analysis to identify emerging trends and potential risks.
- Monitor and report relevant developments relating to market dynamics, peers, benchmarks to help guide and further refine strategic execution within IB, providing ongoing feedback to the global strategy team.
- Provide actionable insights and recommendations based on industry benchmarking and data-driven analysis.
Business Performance and Analytics:
- Facilitate timely and insightful business performance data, based on globally consistent metrics and data sources, and informed by market dynamics.
- Analyze key performance metrics and prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior management.
- Identify areas for operational improvement and work with cross-functional teams to enhance efficiency and profitability.
- Monitor and track the execution of strategic initiatives and assess their impact on business outcomes.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Work closely with senior leadership, bankers, and support teams to ensure alignment and seamless execution of business strategies.
- Act as a trusted advisor to leadership on key decisions related to market positioning, client strategy, and resource allocation.
Change Management and Special Projects:
- Partner with Transformation to design and implement strategic change as well as
- identifying and implementing further areas of impactful change.
- Ensure strategic alignment of investment in digital and transformation, effectively driving ROI outcomes promised by corresponding business cases.
- Lead client experience and other transformation initiatives globally across IB with a focus on technology investment, process improvement and data management.
- Lead and manage ad-hoc strategic projects, including business/client opportunities, partnerships, and large-scale transformations.
- Provide strategic input on regulatory developments and their implications for the business.
What you will need to succeed in the role
- 5-8+ years of experience in investment banking, management consulting, or a similar strategy-focused role, preferably within financial services.
- Proven track record of working on high-impact strategic initiatives and delivering measurable results.
Educational Background:
- Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field. MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
Skills and Competencies:
- Dynamic, results-oriented proactive individual who can leverage their network and relationship building skills to manage a multi-faceted role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in presenting to senior leadership.
- Excellent grasp of MS PowerPoint / Excel / Word and ability to distil large quantities of information into key themes / issues. Follow up on recurring themes from the MI and identify solutions, which are followed through to conclusion.
- Deep understanding of the Investment Banking business model, product offerings, and market dynamics.
- Proficiency in Financial modeling, forecasting, and performance tracking tools.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build consensus among diverse stakeholders.
