The Opportunity:

  • Provide consistent Credit Risk Management Services supporting the end-to-end customer journey for Commercial Banking and/or Global Market businesses in various markets across geographies, maintaining highest customer service level without compromising on data integrity standards.  The job holder is responsible for ensuring all transactions are processed within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and in an accurately manner. Overall contributing to outstanding service quality for our internal and external clients.
  • Support Line of Business in winning new businesses, strengthening existing relationships, carrying out financial support activity for delinquent commercial customers and managing risk and controls.

What you’ll do:

Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Ensuring all transactions are processed within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and in an accurately manner. Overall contributing to outstanding service quality for our internal and external clients.
  • Given the inherent operational risk, the incumbent is expected to understand the operational risk framework and the impact of his/her actions while handling transactions.
  • Independently manage and work upon end-to-end customer journey through different Service Deliveries like:
  • Preapproval activity like Credit Application Creation, Financial Spreading, and Customer Risk Rating generation.
  • Post approval activity like creation of Lending Documentation, Limit Setup, Fund Disbursement, Rollover of Loans, Covenant monitoring.
  • Collateral Input, Registration, Maintenance, Renewal and Release
  • Miscellaneous Credit administration activities like Reconciliation, Repayment, Pricing, Fees set up and collection, etc.
  • Carry out financial support activity for delinquent Commercial customers which could include sending regulatory letters, account maintenance, dealing with debt management agencies, suppressing interest and charges, or assessing customers’ financial affordability through income and expense assessment.
  • Continuously review and improve process and procedures. Effectively implement and communicate changes, which are measured through reduced costs and improved revenue.
  • Independently handle escalations and resolve complex process related issues.
  • Constantly show improvement in the quality of service provided to Business partners and external customers.
  • Ensure that internal audits and measures are undertaken regularly and reviewed to achieve / exceed agreed Process and Global Operating Metrics.
  • Ensure service provided to lines of business should be seamless and with no compromise on data integrity standards.
  • Handle impact of erratic workflows through effective capacity planning, leave management and process prioritization.
  • Maintain up-to-date information on all policies, processes & procedures (including relevant policy papers & manuals)
  • MI and other business data requirements are completed accurately and supporting statistics / reports / returns are presented to Business / Management within agreed timelines.
  • Management of the workflow to ensure efficient operations of the unit.
  • Exercise proper operational checks and balances / undertake self-audit to ensure accuracy and quality of work output.
  • Actively contribute to the activities & functions of Credit Services/ Collateral Management Unit and GSC.
  • Manage work for quality and ensure compliance with audit requirements for the respective area.
  • Drive and deliver initiatives in the team/ self to improve efficiency of work processes, resulting in cost reductions and / or increase revenue.

Leadership & Teamwork 

  • Ensure on-going skill development through effective use of available tools & resources, staff training and development.
  • Knowledge sharing with the team members and providing necessary guidance to the new recruits & less experienced team members.
  • Develop own knowledge and expertise, sharing with colleagues and internal customers.
  • Proven record in supporting and driving transformation in existing process.
Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:

Functional Knowledge

  • Strong SME knowledge and proven capability in Commercial / Global Credit and Lending Services is strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience in Commercial / Global Lending / Trade Services/ Credit Services/ Securities Processing along with relevant product and collateral knowledge is essential.
  • MBA Finance / B. Com / M. Com is essential.
  • To be willing to work in shifts (including night)

  • Knowledge of and implementation of the Group compliance policy, Operational Risk and SOX (Sarbanes- Oxley Requirements) as applicable for the Business / Function
  • Maintains HSBC internal control standards, including the timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external 'regulators.'
  • Awareness of all elements of Operational Risk associated with the role in compliance to SOX for contact centers & minimize the likelihood of it occurring including its identification, assessment, mitigation and control, loss identification and reporting in accordance with section 4 of the Group Operations FIM. 
  • Implement the Group Compliance Policy as applicable to your role in conjunction with the relevant laws, rules and codes with which the business has to comply within the country you reside and in relation to the countries migrating work to assigned GSC.
  • To continually re-access the operational risks inherent in the business, ta account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures, management restructures and the impact of new technology in conjunction with the donor Group companies.
  • Responsible for one’s own performance. Required to ensure that the service levels are maintained at its optimum level.
