Debt Securities Operations forms a part of the wider Securities Operations and, segregated by asset class, is responsible for ensuring all Fixed Income trades booked by the front office flow through the various stages of the trade life cycle and settle successfully on value date.

All Trade Date Processing and Clearing & Settlements for this function reside within the Global Service Centres.

There are no direct reports for this role. The individual Contributor reports into a team manager who is responsible for the function of that region.

The Opportunity:

Principal Accountabilities: 

A processor role to continuously provide high quality processing service to achieve maximum client satisfaction within the specified timeline and requirements. To provide support in a subset of processing functions including documentation, trade affirmation, projects and Reporting.  Assist in managing Operational Risk and Control within the process and the business through query handling and escalation.

What you’ll do:

  • Support Client Service offering under the Debt Securities banner.
  • Analyze and take ownership of identified root causes to reduce reoccurrence of untimely confirmation, wrong allocation and produce MI to client.
  • Identify and manage Operational Risk for the process by carrying out effective Operational Risk assessments, monitoring and implementing risk mitigating plans and escalating potential risks that may arise.
  • Participates in site-wide initiatives and best practice sharing sessions.
  • Procedural changes / new initiatives are implemented in the team.
  • Contribute to contingency planning for the teams / sections.
  • Customer issues are handled sensitively, receive full consideration and situations are resolved effectively retaining goodwill of customer.
  • Continuously analyze the product, process and system knowledge of each team members to prevent dilution of knowledge within the team.
  • Motivate and develop team/subordinate to meet business objectives.
  • Create robust team environment where skills and knowledge openly shared to achieve team and business goals.
  • Management information, KRI and KPI reporting, other required data and communication are completed accurately and supporting statistics / reports / returns are presented within agreed timescales.
Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:

  • A degree in accounting/finance/management/business administration. Higher qualification not a bar provided aspirations commensurate with the position.
  • Experience in Fixed Income Securities Operations would be highly advantageous, or other line Operations teams.
  • Strong culture of ethics and integrity.
  • Ability to speak and understand English fluently with exceptional business communication skills.
  • Excellent planning, time management and organizational skills as well as a strong eye for detail are required.
  • Ability to perform well in a fast pace and high pressure environment against tight timelines.
  • Able to work in a demanding and time sensitive environment.
  • Hands on experience of operations processing is an advantage.

What additional skills will be good to have?

  • Technical / IT understanding of how trading and order management systems operate is desirable.
