We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as an Associate Director (6 Months Short-Term Assignment).

Principal Responsibilities

HSBC Singapore CEO Office is responsible for the driving and delivery of Key Management activities and overall coordination for enterprise-wide activities. The team helps inform strategic decision-making and acts as a catalyst and driver for strategic change, constructively challenging the business with critical thinking and innovative insight to improve the way we do business and ensure performance optimisation. 

You will report directly to the Chief of Staff, HSBC Singapore, and work closely with local and regional teams to provide relevant insights and analysis, as well as coordination and operational support as required by management team to execute HSBC Singapore priorities. 

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Strategy Execution: Lead on country strategy papers and presentations for Group Holdings / HBAP / HBSP Boards, and working with Singapore Management, Regional, Global Business and Group Strategy teams to enable them in implementing HSBC Strategy
  • Business Development: Work closely with Businesses and Functions to drive priority international corridor and client initiatives from an enterprise lens, contributing to the growth of HSBC Singapore
  • Governance: Prepare for internal and external governance requests with clear and complete insights / feedback from Business and Functions
  • Work closely with key stakeholder to support the ongoing management and assessment of scorecard metrics, and performance monitoring of agreed KPIs for HSBC Singapore Management
  • Stakeholder Relations: Support on large scale client events and offsites, working closely with relevant HSBC Singapore Management heads (for example HWWC, Strategy Offsites, etc). Provide ad-hoc support to visiting executives and senior leadership, including travel logistics
  • CEO Support: Coordinate, prepare and provide input for CEO’s internal and external engagements, including staff and regulatory meetings. Assist CEO in preparation of briefing materials and key updates for internal & external engagements
  • Promotor of challenging the status quo, seeking to improve ways of working and having a forward-thinking mindset, in line with the Group’s values and strategy. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and collaboration
Requirements

To be successful you will need:

  • Good understanding of the financial services industry in Singapore and key trends
  • Well developed analytical skills, capacity to process high volumes of complex information and synthesise key themes and issues
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to interact with various stakeholders
  • Strong prioritisation and control skills, with ability to review and acknowledge when and how to reprioritise, mitigate, or escalate
  • Practical experience in managing complex projects
  • Proven ability to work in a fast paced, ambiguous environment
  • Strong stakeholder management, and negotiation ability
  • Ability to work independently in a small team
  • Strategy / Business Management experience with strong knowledge of HSBC Group is an advantage
