We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join this team in the role of Associate Director - CEO Office, Asia and Middle East, Malaysia Hub Team.
This role reports to the Director, CEO Office, Asia and Middle East, Malaysia Hub team, and provides support for the below activities including to CMSO teams in the region. Responsibilities include:
Performance reporting & Market Intelligence:
Support the regional leadership team, includes conducting market research, gathering relevant data, and providing insightful reports and recommendations.
Collaborate with various countries, Lines of Businesses and Infrastructure teams for necessary inputs to various forums and to enable faster, better quality decisions by senior executives and committees.
Conduct Peer analysis – track performance versus competitors at 1H and FY reporting cycles, drawing out trends and implications for our strategy.
Analyses business performance information and coordinate implementation of key strategic initiatives KPI tracking.
International Markets Oversight:
Support regional leadership’s oversight on the international markets, covering regular governance forums, financial performance, control environment management, risk culture development, enterprise risk management, entity-wide talent development, and meeting our in-market regulatory responsibilities.
Helps coordinate the preparation, collation and submission of Performance Scorecards for the international markets.
Corporate structure change oversight
Provide support for the 7.1 process for Asia Pacific, collaborating with Business/Product teams and Group; work with Group M&A to track all key M&A projects and review updates to the Board
External engagement
Coordinate, prepare and provide input for external presentations for senior leadership’s external engagements and on behalf of the region such as rating agencies, regulatory meetings and award submissions
Provides support as required on ad hoc projects
Good understanding of the financial services industry, including key trends, client segmentation, P&L, balance sheet, etc.
Significant experience of operating in an unstructured environment with diverse, and often competing, goals.
Well-developed analytical skills, with a capacity to process high volumes of complex information and distill these into key themes, issues, insights and recommendations
Strong written and verbal presentation skills, including the ability to write well-structured papers and presentation decks
Experience of effective action planning and project management
Understanding of HSBC Asia and Middle East’s footprint along with the competitive, regulatory and macroeconomic environment
Strong knowledge of HSBC Group structures, with experience in one or more of HSBC’s main markets or businesses an advantage
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with various stakeholders
