We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Associate Director, Office of the Group CFO.
We have a great opportunity for a Finance professional to join the Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO) office. You’ll be an integral part of the team, interacting with Senior stakeholders, primarily supporting the Director, Office of the Group CFO and the Chief Operating Officer, Finance, Sustainability and Group External Communications (FS&GEC) in discharge of regulatory and executive accountabilities.

In this role, you will:
- Support in preparing specific Management updates and papers for HSBC Executives and key management committees. Able to digest, synthesise and where appropriate challenge the risk profile picture, working closely with risk stewards. Draft clear, concise and insightful reports on risk matters.
- Support the interaction between Chief of Staff (CoS) teams and various senior stakeholders in FS&GEC, interacting and influencing at senior levels of the organisation and with counterparts at all levels of the organisation.
- Manage the end-to-end management of FS&GEC Leadership meetings, including agenda setting, paper preparation and action follow-ups.
- Play an active role in setting and shaping the function vision, support the COO in delivering the people and organisational change agenda.
- Providing assistance to support engagements by the GCFO and COO. This includes interaction with the PRA and all other major regulatory bodies, including in delivery of strategic regulatory requests on behalf of the Group CFO and COO.
- Bring technical expertise, thought leadership and critical thinking in preparing and reviewing reports to committees, responses to regulatory requests and other communications, through application of broad knowledge of finance, sustainability and group external communications and an ability to synthesise information on financials, strategic objectives and macro-economic and regulatory trends.
- Draft clear, concise and insightful reports on finance matters, support regulatory engagements, provide strategic review and insights on critical reports.
- Agile and ad hoc: Be part of small, flexible team delivering the above activities. Expect a significant level of activities to be agile and adapt to changing internal and external environment.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- Familiarity with a finance function and deeper expertise in one or more finance areas preferred, but not essential.
- High level of organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a faced paced environment.
- Proven ability to understand senior stakeholder needs, identify challenges, propose solutions, and support leadership in the support of strategic decision making.
- Strong written communication with the ability to summarise technical and complex subjects, even when not a subject matter expert, for executive and board level audiences. A high attention to detail is crucial.
- Proven ability to build relationships and demonstrate credibility with senior stakeholders. Can collaborate effectively, exercising sound judgement about how best to approach delivery of an activity that requires input from different areas.
- Knowledge of the HSBC Group and its strategy, structures and processes including governance frameworks.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity, adapting to changing priorities, working in a dynamic environment and getting things done. Navigation and tenacity to manage multiple demands at any given time.
The base location for this role will be London and with a hybrid working pattern.
