Joining HSBC CIB as an Associate with our Global Network Banking team based in Melbourne, you will be responsible for preparing credit submissions and working closely with the ISB Victorian Relationship Managers to support the management of client accounts. 

With HSBC’s Global Network Banking team, you will be joining a business that provides a gateway to HSBC’s global network, providing the opportunity to build strong relationships with our international stakeholders and clients across key corridors of the US, United Kingdom, Europe, Asia Pacific and Middle East. This exposure provides the opportunity to further develop your career across a breadth of industries and products such as traditional credit and lending, infrastructure finance, working capital solutions and transactional banking, while building a strong international network.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Writing specialised corporate credit papers, with a strong focus on credit quality and analysis. This includes, debt financing and/or working capital financing.
  • Financial analysis and interpretation of financial statements, including a degree of financial modelling and sensitivity analysis.
  • Ensuring portfolio and customer compliance at all times, including, but not restricted to, KYC, AML, Anti-bribery and corruption and sanctions.
  • Maintaining an understanding of the customer’s industry and associated markets.
  • Managing an existing portfolio of client relationships and assisting with the development of robust account plans for the portfolio, where required.
  • Identifying, escalating, and documenting new share of wallet opportunities through provision of new HSBC products and services.
  • Coordinating efforts internally to deliver superior solutions to customers.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Proven capability in writing comprehensive yet concise credit papers with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Experience in corporate / institutional banking, ideally with a big 4 domestic, international bank or global professional services firm in an aligned practice group.
  • Strong knowledge of Global Network Banking products and services, or similar such as traditional credit and lending, infrastructure finance, and working capital.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong and lasting stakeholder relationships internally and externally.
  • In-depth analytical skills, with a strong commercial orientation.
  • Ability to working effectively to deadlines whilst juggling competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • An ability to consistently meet and exceed customer expectations through superior customer service.
  • Self-motivation, commitment, resilience and a desire to succeed and get the job done.

Preference will be given to candidates who hold Australian PR/Citizenship or New Zealand Citizenship, or who can demonstrate current unrestricted work rights in Australia without limitations.
