We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Business Architect.
Principal Responsibilities
- Attending Business Architecture decision forums and following up with Architects / Business Owners for any items ‘escalated to executive level
- Supporting the coordination of the Business and Architecture forum, including the preparation of monthly agendas and preparation amongst participants
- Maintaining WPB Business Services and owning the governance / change request process for updates
- Running working groups to resolve issues and agree, implement, and communicate process. improvements to optimize reuse of capabilities across markets and avoid unnecessary product variation
- Supporting ad hoc Business Architecture queries, gathering business information to inform decisions
- Managing (including capturing and socializing) the set of agreed business patterns for common business architecture problems across Value Streams
- Delivering on key HSBC Group-level business architecture priorities
- Building strong relationships with key stakeholders to support governance processes and resolution of architectural issues across the WPB portfolio
- Supporting value streams with architecture decisions required to progress delivery of new capabilities at pace
- Collaborating with Business Architecture teams in WPB’s business lines and other related stakeholders
- Collaborating with Group Business Architecture on Group-wide priorities
- Supports a customer centered culture, championing activities encouraging outstanding service and/or enhancing customer advocacy
- Acting as an advocate for the Architecture team, supporting building the understanding of stakeholders in the virtues of architecture approach to change delivery
- Ensuring to produce high quality outputs across all activities
- Enabling a culture of strategic and pragmatic thinking, balancing short-term decisions and investments with longer-term vision and objectives
- Mentoring and coaching less experienced members of the Architecture team
- A university graduate with degree in Business or Technology - related discipline
- Understanding of the retail banking and wealth management industry, including products, competitive landscape, regulatory environment, and digitalization/innovation trends
- Agile Ways of Operating, operational Value Streams, and Business Architecture frameworks
- Ability to grasp complex business and technology problems and design solutions to address these, understanding of technical design of digital capabilities across the layers of the technology stack
- Analytical skills to derive insight from large amounts of imperfect data and information
- Ability to take a commercial stance when evaluating architecture decisions
- Defining, establishing, and communicating new/improved governance and processes
- Preparing executive presentations to support decision making
- Coordinating and/or leading decision-making forums
- Knowledge of HSBC and WPB environment including strategy, products, processes, technology, and people
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Strong stakeholder management / Relationship Management, with the ability to interact with and influence Senior Leaders as needed
- Well-developed analytical skills and the ability to get into the details, while also seeing and understanding the big picture
- Able to think laterally and take a pragmatic approach to issue resolution when necessary
- Ability to bring clarity to ambiguous situations and problems
- Capacity to work on multiple projects and prioritise effectively
- Highly motivated and able to work independently, under pressure and proactively in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines
- Demonstrate strong teamwork
- Experience of working in a global environment, working across cultures and matrix structures, ability to embrace diversity
- Positive, proactive, and can-do attitude
