Reporting to the Senior Business Risk & Control Manager, you will lead the delivery of key elements of the Operational Resilience Framework, conduct risk and control assessments, and ensure regulatory obligations are fully met. This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role in the first line of defence, requiring strong controls expertise, sound judgement, and a practical understanding of how to embed risk management into day-to-day operations.

The Team You Will Work With
You will sit within the Business Risk and Controls function and work closely with business leads, technology and cyber teams, and control owners across the UK and globally. You will partner with stakeholders in operations, compliance, and internal audit to ensure control standards are understood, gaps are addressed, and resilience risks are properly managed. This role will require strong collaboration across multiple teams to drive risk maturity and effective remediation activity.

The Value You Will Add
Lead the implementation and oversight of key operational resilience requirements, ensuring regulatory compliance and business readiness
Deliver structured risk and control assessments across technology and cyber areas, identifying weaknesses and supporting practical remediation
Monitor risk events and control failures, ensuring timely follow-up and escalation
Support the response to internal audits and compliance reviews, ensuring findings are addressed and closed in line with policy
Provide clear, actionable advice to business stakeholders on risk, control effectiveness, and resilience planning
Build consistency and rigour into the way risks are documented, tracked, and reported across your coverage areas

Requirements

The Experience You Will Need
Significant experience in a risk, controls, or audit role within financial services
Strong understanding of operational resilience regulation and what it means in practice
Practical knowledge of technology and cyber risk frameworks and control environments
Hands-on experience delivering Risk and Control Assessments (RCAs)
Track record of managing remediation plans, testing control effectiveness, and influencing outcomes
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing reports and presenting risk findings to senior stakeholders
Ability to work independently, challenge constructively, and manage competing priorities
Comfortable working with internal policies, regulatory standards, and operational frameworks
Strong organisational and time management skills, with attention to detail and follow-through.
