The objective of KYC Operations is to provide Global Banking & Markets and Commercial Banking & Retail Banking clients with a globally consistent, and best in class KYC process, in over 50 countries. It ensures that KYC profiles are prepared in accordance with Group and Regulatory Policy, obtaining documents as required from the client/ relationship manager, undertake all the necessary due diligence checks and ensure appropriate escalation is followed according to Policy requirements. 
KYC Operations is responsible for providing centralized services via KYC production teams, validation of clients in support of both client on-boarding and periodic maintenance of client information. It has been tasked with creating a KYC utility service to provide a consistent approach for KYC across the 54 countries of the Group for all the LOBs. The organization is expected to go through a transformation for the next 5 years where new policies, processes and technologies will be implemented. Throughout this time, the organization will need a dedicated, senior process manager that will drive organization’s continuous improvement activities

The Opportunity:

The role encompasses a number of tasks involving KYC and Tax across multiple business lines, training the team on KYC and regulatory environment, ensuring AML Regulations, policies/procedures are maintained and adhered. One of the key objectives will be monitoring and reporting performance to the management based on agreed timescales. This role also involves liaising with the business partners as well as colleagues and senior onshore partners thus ensuring timely resolution of queries.

What you’ll do:

  • Carry out the quality Control process in accordance with standard operating procedures and respective line of business procedures.
  • All risks associated with the process are identified and controls are put in place to mitigate them. Learning points/feedback taken on board – no repeat issues
  • Provide support in maintenance of HSBC operational risk and internal standards, including the timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators; adheres to local law compliance as well
  • Proactively provide technical assistance to less experienced colleagues in the team  - sharing knowledge & learning
  • Deliver feedback to staff in a constructive manner, be a role model of expected HSBC values and work effectively in a team environment.
  • To provide a high quality service to internal and external customers.
  • Work in tandem with the Production teams to ensure timely completion of audits; prioritize workload to meet objectives of the CDD Utility, to ensure quality thresholds are met.
  • Actively coach Production teams during discussion of the draft findings captured, by deliver high-quality SME support to the team.
  • Contribute to the production of training materials to address trends and findings; and participate in the delivery of the training to the relevant production staff.
  • Ensure the cases are audited in accordance with Independent Quality Assurance procedures and respective line of business procedures.
  • Be informed of all procedural changes and implement the required changes in the quality assurance process.
  • Identify, log, and discuss findings with BRQC management, Production QC teams as applicable.
  • Generate, coordinate the preparation of metrics on errors and feedback. Identify, analyze trends and submit reports to BRQC Management.
  • Facilitate accreditation/certification process with in BRQC
  • Apply compliance and maintain HSBC internal control standards.
Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:

  • Excellent command English and French
  • Excellent prioritizing, planning and organizing skills along with the ability to build and maintain MI.
  • Demonstrate highly customer centric approach and strong business acumen.
  • Good understanding of MS office and proven skills on banking platforms
  • Good analytical, problem –solving and project management skills.
  • Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders, and provide resolutions to end customer within desired timelines.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize them depending on the criticality of the tasks.
  • Self-motivated and should be able to work under minimal supervision.
  • Strong process knowledge i.e AML/KYC/CDD.

What additional skills will be good to have? 

  • Very Good French skill is required 
  • KYC Risk operation background is preferable
  • Coaching delivery skills
