Role Purpose

  • The Project Manager will support programme execution by ensuring project governance, reporting, and forecasting. This role will assist in organizing and leading projects, maintaining control over budgets, and ensuring project milestones are met. This role holder will report to CTA Programme Manager.

What you’ll do:

Key Accountabilities

  • Support programme governance and compliance requirements
  • Prepare and manage programme reporting, including audit and compliance documentation
  • Develop accurate programme forecasting to track progress and financials
  • Assist in organising and leading projects, ensuring efficient execution
  • Manage project governance, controlling project tollgates, and maintaining change control
  • Monitor progress against the project plan and assist in removing bottlenecks
  • Participate in business planning activities which may include financial, technological and resource planning
  • Facilitate & support senior management decision making by the use of management information, performance information, analytics, forums, stakeholder feedback and HSBC strategy

Leadership & Teamwork

  • Work collaboratively with the Programme Management team, finance teams, businesses, HR and other stakeholders

Operational Effectiveness & Control

  • Maintains project change control, ensuring any changes to baseline are managed through change request and all impacts are considered
  • Promotes and takes accountability for programme quality; identifies opportunities to improve delivery and oversees the governance process to reduce risk and ensure effective and timely decisions
  • Provides timely reports on programme status, risks and issues, evaluating programme performance based on management information
  • Follows Business Transformation Frameworks and methodologies

Management of Risk (Operational Risk / FIM requirements)

  • The jobholder will ensure the fair treatment of our customers is at the heart of everything we do, both personally and as an organisation
  • This will be achieved by consistently displaying the behaviours that form part of the HSBC Values and culture and adhering to HSBC risk policies and procedures, including notification and escalation of any concerns and taking required action in relation to points raised by audit and/or external regulators

Observation of Internal Controls (Compliance Policy / FIM requirements)

  • The jobholder will adhere to, and be able to demonstrate adherence to, internal controls and will implement the Group compliance policy by adhering to all relevant processes/procedures
  • The term ‘compliance’ embraces all relevant financial services laws, rules and codes with which the business has to comply. This will be achieved by adherence to all relevant procedures, keeping appropriate records and, where appropriate, by the timely implementation of internal and external audit points, including issues raised by external regulators
Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:

Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications (For the role – not the role holder)

  • Previous experience of CTA comparable projects advantageous
  • Experience in project management within a financial institution
  • Strong skills in project governance, reporting, and risk management as well as planning and execution skills
  • Understands and translates Programme strategy and objectives into the business use of analytics and modelling to implement our strategy
  • Proven team building and leadership capabilities operating within a matrix organisation
  • Ability to manage budgets and change control processes
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Strong stakeholder commutation and coordination abilities
  • Proven experience in supporting right-shoring migrations
  • Highly energetic and resilient individual capable of managing Programme budgets to time and scope
  • Understands and translates Programme strategy and objectives into the business use of analytics and modelling to implement our strategy
  • Agile development aware and strong ability to translate business needs into analytical requirements
  • Strong analytical and facilitation skills to ensure business needs and effective solutions can be quickly and clearly defined
  • Strong influencing skills
  • Effective management of dependencies and interactions across associated and complimentary projects
  • Outstanding written/verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Good knowledge of Financial Services industry and offerings
