We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a CTO Risk and Control Senior Analyst.

Principal Responsibilities

Description:

The role is Assurance Analyst – Enablement, Risk and Control (Controls Compliance), Digital Business Services. The purpose of the Controls Compliance function is to enable our colleagues to manage the risks of deployment to, and operating in the Cloud, for the benefit of customers, colleagues, and the Bank.

Principal Accountabilities

The Assurance Analyst is accountable to the Head of Controls Compliance, for ensuring effective HSBC operated controls assurance and governance in the Bank, across all strategic Cloud platforms.

The role will carry out the following activities:

  • Assist the Risk and Control team with the continued development and evolution of the Control Framework and Governance processes (including Cloud)
  • Provide risk and controls advice and guidance to the Chief Technology Control (CTO) (i.e. Platform Teams) and Global Business and Global Functions (i.e. GB/GF) teams and perform assessment of the application of policies, control standards, and procedures throughout the journey of deployment
  • Provide support on initiatives to drive improvements to the technology control environment
  • Identify control deficiency within CTO and perform analysis and establish remediation of control measures, where required
  • Support the production of monthly Risk & Controls Management Meetings (RCMMs) material for MI & reporting on governance, risks and controls
  • Assist with cloud-related audits  and regulatory engagements
  • Have a good understanding of Operational Risk from a technology perspective
  • Advocate the desired governance and control changes across the Chief Information Officer (CIO) community so as to mature the understanding and management of technology risks and controls
Requirements

Knowledge & Experience

  • Good knowledge of technology controls & governance processes
  • Good knowledge of cloud controls environment
  • 2 years+ experience in undertaking assessments of controls preferred
  • Risk & Controls, Audits, Cybersecurity or Cloud related qualifications e.g. CISA, CISM, CISSP, CRISC, CCSP (or similar) desirable
  • Open personality with effective communication skills
  • Coordinate with colleagues and key stakeholders in a global team
  • Planning and project management skills
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Communication - ability to present complex issues confidently and concisely to technology senior executives and other key stakeholders using non-technical easily understood language
  • Make considered decisions that protect and enhance HSBC values, reputation and the business
