We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as an Client Implementation and Product Manager.

Role Purpose

HSBC is the largest trade finance organization in the world, offering a comprehensive range of core and structured trade solutions to customers. The bank has been recognized by the industry’s most prominent publications and associations for its strength in combining innovation and service excellence through end-to-end customer solutions. Global Trade Solutions (GTS) in the Philippines serves as a critical product and service provider to Wholesale Banking (WSB) customers.

The Client Implementation and Product Manager is principally accountable for the full end-to-end implementation of complex trade solutions to WSB customers. The jobholder will also have oversight on channel onboarding across GTS products and could include completion of documentation, coordination with various stakeholders, and oversight over first transaction execution. Working in close collaboration with Coverage, Sales, Solution Structuring and Services, the individual will need to be both technically savvy, commercially astute, with in-depth knowledge of trade products and services, and capable of effectively managing and interacting with a diverse range of functional stakeholders (i.e. IT, Compliance, Legal, Risk, etc.) in order to deliver complex transactions as part of the end-to-end Product fulfillment lifecycle. time-to-market, time-to-revenue, delivery & commercial risk mitigation all represent key performance metrics for the role. Jobholder will also be responsible for product management requirements of GTS MNL, including but not limited to new product roll-outs, product enhancements, and other similar activities. Role holder will also assist in structuring complex deals across GTS MNL’s suite of client solutions, providing guidance to Sales and Coverage, and coordinating with regional counterparts, assisting in the structuring of bespoke solutions, and ensuring a high quality customer experience.

Principal Accountabilities:

Impact on the Business 
  • Delivery of client implementation programs as part of the end-to-end client execution and transaction fulfilment lifecycle
  • Oversee the efficient completion of technical and operational onboarding activities for new-to-trade or new-to-bank structured trade clients
  • Proactively identifying sales opportunities and developing these opportunities
  • Oversee product management and provide guidance to Sales and Services colleagues on product-related issues
  • Actively manage all current and future product and system upgrades and commercialization
  • Leverage client feedback to shape our propositions and new product development activity 
  • Oversee the provision of transactional and channel support to structured trade clients, understanding their onboarding requirements and ensuring their timely implementation within GTS
  • Manage high profile programs, complex on boarding programs (typically complex/high profile Supply Chain Solutions, International RF, pan regional Guarantees implementation activity using HSBCnet and client technical integrations
  • Ensure credit risk recommendations, KYC (Know-Your-Customer) procedures and other GTS procedures and guidelines are implemented and adhered to for all new structured trade deals.
Customers / Stakeholders 
  • Manage key relationships with internal and external stakeholders, developing and maintaining strong working relationships with:
  • Internal –WSB colleagues, GTS Services, GTS Sales, CMP, LGA, WMCR, Ops Risk, WCOO/NFR, ASP GTS
  • External – key implementation clients
  • Develop and manage relationships with STF customers, implementation/on-boarding, and go-live to business as usual and migration to Client Services ownership
  • Work closely with colleagues across Business Development and Solution Structuring, providing support on deals with priority or complex clients and ensuring alignment in strategy regarding target client groups
  • Ensure customer fully understands the systems and solutions which are being implemented
  • Strive for class-leading customer experience by cultivating a consistent selling and relationship management culture
  • Maintain close liaison with country and region colleagues/ stakeholders to provide input into the strategic direction of GTS
  • Deliver fair outcomes for our customers and ensure own conduct maintains the orderly and transparent operation of financial markets
Operational Effectiveness & Control
  • Develop and recommend changes and improvements to operating models, procedures and practices based on subject matter expertise and understanding of HSBC and market best practice 
  • Communicate and adhere to HSBC policy and procedures in order to ensure good operational, financial and project management, policy and procedural compliance and early identification and effective resolution or escalation of issues that arise 
  • Contribute to the development, implementation and maintenance of GTRF management information, analysis and reporting framework that supports and informs timely and effective business management and decision making at all levels 
  • Contribute to the implementation and monitoring of the application of GTRF policies, governance frameworks, procedures, practices and standards to ensure quality, effective risk management and regulatory compliance in all implementation activities

  • Provide technical leadership and support technical excellence by searching out external best practice, monitoring technical and professional developments, sharing knowledge and encouraging others to do the same in the best interests of HSBC and its customers

Qualifications
Experience, Skills and Qualifications  
  • University Degree (BS or BA)
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience in Trade or Corporate/ Commercial Banking
  • Strong knowledge of core trade, supply chain finance, and receivables finance solutions
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a particular emphasis on influencing and collaboration
  • Strong business acumen, commercial awareness, and ability to adapt to a dynamic environment
  • Strong time management, planning, and organization skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to deliver informative presentations
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to interact with customers up to senior or C-suite (e.g. CFO) level to explain our products and propositions
  • Ability to manage change
  • Ability to understand the fundamentals of our customers’ businesses
