Asia Pacific covers 19 ASP markets and entities. The ASP Technology Centre team collaborates closely with the ASP markets to deliver the market specific initiatives, provide run support to the local applications on wide range of technology platforms.

The Opportunity:

The role will work closely with IT leadership team in New Zealand. As the role has a high degree of engagement with the market business, this role will need to work in the NZ time zone hours.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead and manage the CTB technology budget for New Zealand market, including estimation, forecasting, tracking, re-allocation and reporting.
  • Manage all GPDM, Interlocking, CAM, Clarity, demand management with various local, ASP and global IT teams.
  • Running monthly meetings and reporting to the business. Walkthrough of portfolio spend and forecast.
  • Work directly with Head of Business Transformation, and IT Leadership team to find, allocate ATP to support business-initiated IT projects.
  • Track and forecast resource plans, report on project status via local and global Jira systems.
  • As necessary, deep dive and take a hands-on approach in specific areas of projects in order to move the project forward overcoming any organizational, people and process issues.
  • Own the market portfolio. Drive all projects within this workstream, and report to leadership team.
  • Initiate and drive project and technology governance processes, as well as additional internal compliance and due diligence activities.
  • Liaise with key business, IT, legal and compliance stakeholders to agree project prioritization, budget, and governance related matters.
  • Engagement and buy-in of all key stakeholders throughout the project to ensure they are aware of the impact of the change and of what the programme expects from them and their teams to make this successful.

Requirements

Organizational

  • Experience in financial institution (4 years +) preferred

  • Good understanding HSBC Group structures, processes and objectives.

  • Excellent understanding and operational knowledge of HSBC Global Change Delivery toolset, specifically GPDM/Clarity/JIRA/Confluence.

Project Portfolio Management

  • Experience in Project & Portfolio Management (3 years +) preferred.

  • Experience working in Financial Services across regulatory and risk programmes will be highly beneficial. Understanding of NZ regulatory standards from APRA, ASIC, and ACCC.

  • Strong ability to navigate in a complex environment with limited guidance. Flexibility when managing shifting or competing priorities.

  • Good risk and control awareness, proven experience in proactively strengthening controls and identifying potential gaps

  • Highly effective communication and presentation skills and an ability to tailor styles to senior management across the business and IT.

Tooling

  • Drive multiple parallel implementations and/or enhancement of GPDM, Clarity, SharePoint, Jira, Confluence etc.

  • Drive and influence data quality, proactively identifying issues and recommending tooling solutions.

  • Facilitating PMO tool trainings and collaborating regularly with IT Engagement Manager / Project Manager.

Communication

  • Fluent English and Cantonese.

  • Customer-focused; results-oriented; ability to deliver within deadlines. Proven ability to work with senior stakeholders and business sponsors.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with strong communication skills both written and verbally.

  • Ability to influence for the right decision across a range of stakeholders within WPB business and IT.

  • Highly effective communication and presentation skills and an ability to tailor styles to senior management across the business and IT.

Attitude

  • Analytical and structured, process-driven thinker with interest in financial management.

  • Self-starter, who can work pro-actively with minimum supervision.

  • Energetic, positive attitude and team player.

  • Attention to details.

  • Strong organizational skills.

     

What additional skills will be good to have?

  • knowledge on project budgeting, annual technology plan (ATP) and a professional with solution-oriented execution attributes would be an added advantage.

  • Knowledge in Power BI, Marco, Visio is a plus.
