WDAC has become a one-stop shop for the Wholesale section of the group’s analytic needs leading the integration of analytics and data-driven decisions not only in traditional areas such as Wholesale & Commercial Banking but also in new domains such as Regulatory, Operations, Procurement, Credit & Lending, IT Infrastructure, and Financial Crime Risk. It provides support to various business groups and the job involves data analysis, model and strategy development & implementation, Business Intelligence, reporting and data management and analysis.
- The team based out of multiple locations across the GSCs (India/China/Mexico) providing analytics, data & insight support to various Wholesale, CMB/ GB portfolios. Team’s focus is on using logical thought process and relevant statistical techniques and right tools & techniques & productize scaled solutions to analyse product portfolio metrics and risk behaviour to arrive at value-based optimum decisions.
The Opportunity:
- Wholesale is a team of a variety of middle and back-office roles which support the frontline activities of our Commercial Banking (CMB) and Global Banking (GB) businesses.

Governance and Committee Memberships (membership of ExCos, Risk Management Meeting)
- The jobholder will continually reassess the operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructurings, and the impact of new technology.
- The jobholder will also adhere to and be able to demonstrate adherence to internal controls. This will be achieved by adherence to all relevant procedures, keeping appropriate records and, where appropriate, by the timely implementation of internal and external audit points, including issues raised by external regulators.
- The jobholder will implement the Group compliance policy by containing compliance risk in liaison with Global Head of Compliance, Global Compliance Officer, Area Compliance Officer, or Local Compliance Officer. The term ‘compliance’ embraces all relevant financial services laws, rules, and codes with which the business has to comply.
- This will be achieved by adhering to all relevant processes/procedures and by liaising with Compliance department about new business initiatives at the earliest opportunity. Also, and when applicable, by ensuring adequate resources are in place and training is provided, fostering a compliance culture and optimising relations with regulators.
What you’ll do:
Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities (e.g., for Business, Customers and Stakeholders; internal control environment, etc.)
- Working closely with data, analytics and technology teams across the business, shape solution designs which meets business needs as well as aligning to the broader strategic Delivery Management principles.
- Work directly with various stakeholders across multiple geographies, such as technical discipline leads, data scientists, data engineers and data analysts to produce accurate delivery estimates and manage the transition from analysis to successful delivery.
- Ensure risks and issues are identified, managed closely, and remove project blockers from the team.
- Provide analytical support to Delivery programs covering Operational Insights, Risks mitigation, Cost management techniques etc.
- Ensure awareness, involvement, and support from key stakeholders and maintaining robust communications on the project status throughout its lifecycle.
- Supporting the delivery production line such as definition, implementation and testing and ensuring deliverables meet business requirements and are fit for purpose.
- Drive all stakeholders to deliver on time and to the required quality standards.
- Working with and liaising with data analytical teams across multiple functions to share knowledge and best practices.
- Act as Scrum Master to servant-lead teams to deliver business use cases on a global scale and deploying locally.
- Bring in proficiency in project management software/tools and drive adoption of the delivery framework
Leadership & Teamwork
- Enforce Delivery Management principles in Global / Regional businesses covering Customer analytics/ Product analytics/ Portfolio analytics etc.
- Manage effective and enduring relationships with various stakeholders to understand, recommend and drive delivery against business agenda.
- Working with and liaising with data analytical teams across multiple functions to share knowledge and best practices.
- Manage and work with real time data to generate decisions on prospects, features for ongoing delivery processes.
- Manage integration of on-premises solutions to the global blueprint
- The role holder shall also be expected to guide and lead team members from a functional perspective and help them build up a strong culture of delivery and professionalism.
What you will need to succeed in the role:
Functional Knowledge
- 6+ years of hands-on analytics experience solving complex business problems using data driven decisions
- A degree in MBA with bachelor’s in engineering / master’s degree in economics, Mathematics, Statistics or other numerical discipline, equivalent with relevant work experience in Data related technologies
- Strong analytical skills with business analysis experience or equivalent. Knowledge and understanding of financial-services/ banking-operations preferred.
- Relevant Agile Certifications such as Certified Scrum Master, SAFe, LeSS, DAD is preferred.
- Proven experience working in a project management or coordination role is a plus.
- Define project scopes, goals, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
- Conduct in depth reviews and analysing data from processes to deliver observations, detail changes and identify the root cause.
- Effective communication, inter-personal and experience at stakeholder management with ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to operate across boundaries of business and technology organisations, utilising broad business delivery, change, technology and data management and remediation knowledge
- Strong analytical and curious mindset and ability to deliver despite multiple challenges.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate complex concepts and ideas
- Strong programming skills and sound knowledge of Python, SQL or other equivalent analytical tools is required. Knowledge of Qlik Sense will be preferred
- Experience of big data and/or cloud programmes is a plus
- Influential individual capable of bringing together disparate and virtual teams to align on a common goal
