We are seeking an inspirational, experienced and customer focused individual to join this team in the role of Deputy Area Director.

 

The Deputy Area Director will jointly lead a team of Relationship Directors, Associate Directors and Relationship Support Analysts (with direct line management responsibility for some of the RDs and RSAs), who provide financial services solutions to Corporate Banking clients with turnover between £15m - £350m.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Leading and inspiring the team to provide our customers with an excellent, world class experience.
  • Developing the team both collectively and individually with a balance of coaching, challenge and support to improve their skills as corporate bankers.
  • Supporting the Relationship Management team by building and improving relationships, aiding the delivery of solutions, products and services appropriate to the customer.
  • Maintaining operational quality and integrity to ensure the team acts within policy guidelines and both internal and external regulatory requirements.
  • Driving analysis of business performance, operational risk control and processes.
  • Develop a sustainable business growth strategy, focusing the team on maximising the depth and breadth of existing client relationships and cultivating new-to bank opportunities, whilst leveraging our network.
  • Drive appropriate financial focus of team to enhance revenue growth through both current and new-to-bank clients.
  • Maintaining and developing a high business profile with the local professional network.
  • Driving collaborating with key stakeholders, including CMB Senior Management, Product Partners, Risk and Structured Finance.

 

Requirements

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

 

  • Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. Corporate Banking with a broad knowledge of products available would be advantageous.
  • A comprehensive understanding of origination, lending and front-line credit risk is essential.
  • Experience of leading the delivery of a customer focused culture and excellent customer service is essential.
  • The ability to motivate, inspire and develop others to deliver exceptional performance and long-term results.
  • A track record of making complex business decisions, being decisive even in times of ambiguity.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills with the ability to effectively influence and negotiate with others.
  • Built effective networks across business areas, developing relationships based on mutual trust and encouraging others.
  • A comprehensive understanding of risk management and proven experience of ensuring own/others' compliance with relevant regulatory processes.

 

This a hybrid role, based at our Canada Square office in London. There is an expectation of travel on a regular basis to visit clients within the London area.   It is therefore important that the successful candidate is within an easily commutable distance of this region.
