We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as an Enterprise and Resilience Risk Management - Short Term Assignment (STA) (GCB 5/4).

Role Purpose
  • Support the Chief Risk and Compliance Officer (CRCO) for Risk & Compliance related activities across the Risk & Compliance function in-market, reporting directly to the CRCO
  • Assist in managing and embedding the enterprise-wide risk management across the Bank, including maintaining the enterprise-wide Risk Management Framework
  • Responsible for execution of the Risk Management Meeting and finalization of the meeting packs including the Risk Profile Paper and Enterprise Risk Reports, supporting/alternating with the Head of Operational and Resilience Risk (ORR) in the fulfillment of acting RMM Secretary duties
  • Provide risk stewardship support as required in market by the CRCO, e.g. Model Risk, Reputational Risk, ESG/Climate Risk
  • Providing support to the Head of ORR on the Risk Stewardship of Resilience Risk
  • Maintain awareness of business, regulatory and market issues, providing support and thought leadership to enhance the Risk & Compliance function
  • Support the CRCO in management of key regulatory reporting for the Bank and ensure regulatory requirements are fulfilled at all times
  • Improve risk metrics and measurements to enhance effectiveness of Risk strategy initiatives, and ensure accurate documentation and reliable quality control procedures
  • Ensure compliance with all Global Standards in addition to all applicable laws, regulations, compliance and risk policies and procedures
  • Provide support as necessary on Culture/Risk culture initiatives
Principal Accountabilities
  • Risk Stewardship support
    • Support the CRCO for the risk stewardship oversight of the assigned risk types such as Model Risk, Reputational Risk, Strategic Risk, Climate/ESG Risk etc.
    • Support the Head of ORR in the Risk Stewardship of Resilience Risk
  • Risk Strategy and Governance
    • Area champion and coordinator for all ASP Risk Governance and Strategy / Risk Management Framework initiatives including the Risk Management Meeting, Risk Appetite Statement
  • Risk Culture
    • Area champion and coordinator for all Risk Culture awareness activities 
  • Coordinator of key reports such as the Risk Map, Thematic Issues, Emerging Risks used in active Risk Management. Provides support to the MNL Risk Management Meeting as Secretary.
  • Responsible for comprehensive Risk Map (Current Risks), Emerging Risks coverage which are integral parts of the governance processes of Risk & Compliance and MNL as a whole. 
  • Day-to-day advice, guidance, and review and challenge on Model Risk, Reputational Risk, Strategic Risk, Climate/ESG Risk, and Resilience Risk.
  • Work effectively with Risk & Compliance, business and functional teams (local and regional)
  • Governance and oversight of outsourced process (RMM pack production)
  • Coordination with Head of ORR and AVP Enterprise Risk
Qualifications
  • Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics or related fields
  • Experience in banking industry preferably in any of the risk areas
  • Strong knowledge of banking products and systems as well as various risk and issues faced by banks
  • Candidate would ideally have an extensive knowledge of the HSBC Group structure, its business and personnel, and a deep understanding of HSBC's corporate culture.
  • Lateral thinker with an ability to interpret and solve complex issues.
  • Excellent communicator with strong inter-personal and influencing skills.
  • Ability to lead change, contributing to joining up with the other teams in Risk & Compliance and Business at Country / Regional level.
  • Strong analytical and presentation skills
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with consultative approach
  • Ability to manage senior stakeholders across businesses & functions within and outside the country
  • Ability to take / drive initiative and to work under high pressure environment
  • Excellent command of both spoken and written English
