The role holder will be part of the financial accounting team providing support in the area of Period End Close, Accounting control & Assurance to ensure accurate and timely submissions. This is a highly critical role and the mainstay of the Financial Accounting team which facilitates all the IFRS/FinRep/GSIB/Country Exposure/ Local GAAP, BSRS & MI Actuals submissions. It involves multiple handoffs between systems, coordinating for arrangement level data from various sources, supplementary data to support both local and Group submissions/reporting, alongside governance. Also, the role entails close liaising with various upstream / downstream teams to ensure data is “fit for purpose” for submission/reporting within the stringent timelines of both Local and Group reporting requirements.

- Role holder will be part of monthly connect with in-country colleagues & change management forums as appropriate, to ensure all the relevant updates/changes are implemented in timely manner.
What you’ll do:
Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities
Service Delivery
- Ownership of the end to end pre-close, month close & post close activities assigned.
- Review and approval of all journals posted in the ledger/MI system.
- Preparation & review of B/S, P/L Schedules, final accounts per IFRS/Local GAAP.
- Preparation & review of Annual Reports & accounts
- Preparation of Analytical Review (“AR”) for Regional submission on quarterly basis.
- Ensure appropriate hierarchy maintenance/local mapping of respective Business/product/segments per guidance from Global / Regional /Local Finance teams.
- Ensure timely & accurate submission of Customer Group financials in Saracen and MI actuals.
- Ensure timely & accurate submissions under stringent timelines and show resilience to work under pressure.
- Front-end & actively contribute towards strategic initiatives and change management initiatives impacting Service Delivery.
- Gain SME knowledge with intent to handle exceptions efficiently & make processes leaner.
- Identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency and execute with agility.
- Lead, identify and track benefits associated with the remediation of data quality issues.
Risks & Controls
- Continually assess the operational risks inherent in the processes & implement controls to mitigate the associated risks.
- Effectively manage change, plan business contingency & achieve cross-training.
- Responsible for maintaining documentation required for RCA and SOX review.
- Ensure SOPs are updated, reviewed and tested by back ups
- Support Group policies, IFRS reporting requirements, audit, controls and compliance requirements
Stakeholder management
- Excellent communication skills to be able to understand and provide excellent service delivery to In-Country.
- Continuous engagement with stakeholders on evolving business and functional requirements to work towards standardization and implementation of Group organizational initiatives.
- Establishing an effective and robust communication channel with multiple stakeholders to ensure timely flow of data/information.
- Ensure timely resolution of queries/issues raised by stakeholders.
- Pro-active approach to be able to deal with change management, ad-hoc requests and unusual variances.
Transformation/Transition
- Challenge status quo of the manual processes and pro-actively identify opportunities for process re-design.
- Drive initiatives to simplify, standardize, automate & stop activities/process and execute at pace.
- Collaborate with teams across sites and implement best practices as appropriate.
- Execute transformation, integration & transition initiatives.
Leadership & Teamwork
- Should be a team player and participate/drive initiatives led at Finance function.
- Exhibit high levels of ownership and collaborate with teams across Finance.
What you will need to succeed in the role:
- CA/CPA/ACCA/MBA/ICWAI/M.com/B.com: CA: 2+ yrs, MBA: 4-5 yrs, M.com/ B.com: 6-8 yrs of post-qualification experience.
- Experience of working with processes involving IFRS/Local GAAP.
- In-depth functional experience in accounting for all balance sheet / income statement heads.
- Strong technical knowledge of Accounting and reporting principles.
- Should be proficient in Financial statement closure procedures
- Strong understanding of Financial systems.
- Must have keen attention to the detail & strong analytical skills.
- Strong Excel and access skills to interpret huge data volumes
- Experience of working with colleagues and stakeholders cross-border in a multinational organization
- Proven track record of leading by example in terms of values and behavior
