We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a GCMB Senior Cost and Investments Manager.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Leading the reporting, analysis commentary and understanding of CMB expenditure. Working with the Regional CMB CFOs and finance teams to develop consistency of cost reporting and analysis across the business
  • Engaging the Global/Regional Business Head(s) through the Business CFOs and COOs to ensure that business cost performance is accurately tracked and reported against the agreed targets. Ensuring that drivers of costs that are allocated to the business are understood, monitored, controlled and accurately reported on a regular basis
  • Ensuring consistency of Financial MI processes and procedures for costs across all lines of business and regions
  • Lead the annual FRP process from CMB cost perspective, working closely with CMB Business Finance colleagues to meet the prescribed deadlines, and working closely with the Wholesale COO community to develop a realistic cost plan which reflects the CMB workforce strategy. Manage FRP-related communication and issue resolution and develop high quality analysis to substantiate CMB FRP costs
  • Support across other GCMB Finance responsibilities as required. Manage monthly/quarterly forecasting to identify challenges in meeting targets, foresee potential cost issues as well as opportunities
Requirements
  • Good understanding of key internal and external performance metrics, particularly around cost but also understanding how cost interacts with other performance metrics. Experience of financial planning and forecasting
  • Ability and experience in formulating coherent and succinct commentary of financial performance and planning outcomes, referencing both internal and external factors which impact cost management (e.g. inflation, staff attrition, business investment)
  • Good understanding of, or willingness to learn, CMB products and the cost base which support them, and how market and competitor dynamics impact these products. Applying this knowledge to articulating financial performance and planning and forecasting outcomes
  • Good understanding of key accounting concepts relevant to CMB business and product set
  • Strong understanding of key performance reporting system capabilities, notably TM1 and Omnia
