Enterprise Technology/Compliance IT Department brings together all areas of financial crime risk management at HSBC including anti-money laundering: transaction monitoring, screening, risk assessment etc. and is dedicated to implement the most effective global standards to combat financial crime.
Risk & Compliance technology design and deploy cutting edge technology to defend the bank and its customers from Sanctions Risk, Financial Crime Risk, Identity Threat, Unauthorised Trading and Market Abuse & Regulatory Sanctions, as well as supporting Enterprise Risk Management.  We provide the systems that enable our global businesses to grow through data-driven, pro-active risk management.
We are currently hiring for an IT Control Lead who will be responsible for embedding the controls (e.g. Identify & Access Management, Software Development Lifecycle, Deployment Management, etc.) across the Risk and Compliance Technology function and conducting control reviews across Risk and Compliance applications. The IT Control Lead who will play a key role in improving the state of the control effectiveness across Risk and Compliance Technology.

What you’ll do
    • Lead multiple themes for R&C Technology under TRCB programme to successfully deliver against the TRCB GRAS metrics.
    • Understand the IT control requirements, operating instructions and key control indicators (KCIs).
    • Create and maintain service-line specific confluence dashboards containing insights and specific remedial actions.
    • Work with the Application owners to ensure that the control requirements are being met.
    • Conduct periodic detailed reviews/ assessments of IT controls across a sample of Risk and Compliance Technology systems use the output to assess the effectiveness of the controls
    • Document the output of IT controls assessments.
    • Use innovative approach, like automation and AI, to improve the controls execution and validation.
    • Ensure all the key stakeholders are aware of the IT Control status, issues and blockers.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders from Enterprise Technology, Group Control Owner, CCO Tech and Senior Management within Risk and Compliance Technology.
    • Represent Risk and Compliance Technology across various governance forums (including senior forums like RCMMs).
    • Support the Head of Controls in improving the effectiveness and reporting of the controls.
    • Act as an ambassador for the team and promote Risk and Compliance Technology Controls when engaging stakeholders, system owners and wider ET community.
    • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of the team's methodologies and operating assets.

What you need to have to succeed in this role
    • Expertise in Technology Controls including IDAM, DMOV, SDLC and DEPL Controls.
    • Ability to work with senior IT stakeholders and drive results within resource and time constraints.
    • Proven track record of delivering control improvement outcomes.
    • Familiarity with HSBC system of record to manage Risk and controls related issues and actions (Helios).
    • Proven track record of improving the controls at a large scale financial services institution by driving innovation like creating user-friendly dashboards, AI.
    • Translating controls specific data in a language that is easy to understand by the users (SL Heads, ITSOs).
    • Build and maintain a strong network of Technology control owners and control leads across GBGIs.
    • Strong influencing skills that will be required to influence the ITSO and engineering community to adopt the IT controls.
    • Excellent English written & verbal communication skills. Articulate author of analysis - able to present complex issues in a clear, concise and digestible manner.
