Compliance Advisory and Stewardship Centres of Excellence supports the Regulatory Compliance Function on a Global level, providing important information to compliance advisors and ensuring the information held is current and of high standard. The role will report to and form a part of the HSBC Bank plc (HCIB) Regulatory Affairs team based in London. The role will support the team which is responsible for Regulatory Developments, Regulatory Engagements, Whistleblowing and Policy Overight for HCIB UK Non-Ring-Fenced Bank and for oversight across the HCIB subsidiaries and branches including Contintential Europe. 

What you’ll do
    • Good command of both verbal and written English.
    • Ability to understand and interpret Regulations.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and able to build and maintain relationships.
    • Ability to adapt to fast paced environment and willingness to be flexible on assignments including both routine and ad-hoc tasks as well as with time zone differences. 
    • Knowledge of the HSBC Group structure, particularly of HCIB/HBCE. 
    • Experience of interacting with regulators and with Senior Management on regulatory topics.
    • Understanding of financial services regulation and of HSBC’s business lines, in particular within Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB). 
    • Knowledge of Financial Markets 

What you need to have to succeed in this role
    • Lead and manage the HCIB Regulatory Affairs team extension based in Krakow, comprised of three other team members. 
    • Either directly and/or working with relevant risk stewards and stakeholders, ensure that a high level analysis is completed for inflight regulatory developments that impact HCIB. Support detailed analysis where possible.
    • Work with the wider Regulatory Compliance function to provide advice and oversight of first line regulatory change implementation, escalate where necessary and report on completion. Support on implementation projects where possible. 
    • Directly or in liaison with colleagues in or outside the Regulatory Compliance fucntion, identify and submit responses to relevant consultations or similar on regulatory developments and where appropriate seek to drive changes to legislation that are in the best interests of our customers, strategy and other stakeholders.
    • Summarise material regulatory developments for MI and reporting purposes, including in real time for distribution to key stakeholders (i.e., preparing Flash Reports).
    • Provide high quality reporting and MI on regulatory developments to HCIB and HBCE Regulatory Compliance (including relevant branches and subsidiaries).
    • Update the RAPid2 system (the horizon scanning tool) with details of regulatory developments and support/oversee the use RAPid2 by 1LoD and 2LoD as well as the regulatory mapping tool (RegMap).
    • Supporting the wider HCIB Regualtory Affairs team based in London on ad hoc and BAU tasks.
