This is an operational relationship management role based within the Prime Finance Operations Client Service team. The focus of the role is to ensure Prime Finance Operations deliver an excellent service to the ‘Prime’ and Equity priority client base of the Prime Finance business and to personally ensure that HSBC Markets Operations is seen as providing a best in class offering in their post trade client service. The individual will be required to manage a portfolio of client relationships and will also be expected to work closely with their colleagues situated both onshore and offshore as well as provide input into and drive the client service strategy across MSS Operations.


The Opportunity:

The role is also responsible for helping to design, deliver and support a global target operating model, requiring the resourcing and training of settlements and control teams between the regions (LDN, HK, NY), and extensive coordination between these teams and the business.


What you’ll do: 

  • Direct face off to senior operations and business managerial teams
  • High pressure environment with deadlines imposed by the client and internal stakeholders
  • Review current processes and suggest and implement process improvements
  • Role in helping to deliver strategic direction.
  • Staff rotation and cross training
  • Oversight of HBEU client service processes and co-ordination for all Asia based Prime Clients
  • Been able to deal with very sensitive Prime clients.
  • Guide the team on dealing with clients while performing BAU tasks.
  • Work with Prime Client Service Stakeholders on cross asset initiatives representing Prime Finances and providing input/feedback.
  • Strong performance stats for all clients reviewed via MI.

Qualifications

What you will need to succeed in the role: 

  • A proven delivery track record combined with a sound knowledge of Prime Finance processes. The role requires a proactive and articulate individual, comfortable being part of a multi-disciplined team, dealing with a broad number of clients both internally and externally to shape key messages, and influence senior management teams in delivering practical solutions that noticeably move the dial in Operations.
  • Knowledge of Markets products and associated post trade operational processes.
  • A solutions-led individual, able to self-motivate and deliver high quality results.
  • Lateral thinker with an ability to interpret and solve complex issues.
  • Ability to act impartially, where required, to arbitrate in matters under dispute, build consensus, and resolve conflicts.
  • Excellent client management skills, with the ability to build and develop networks and relationships with both external and internal clients and stakeholders.


What additional skills will be good to have? 

  • Accomplished understanding of the front to back flow within Prime Finance operations.
  • Continuous improvement and project management experience desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal, networking and influencing skills.
