As the Head of Data, Switzerland CIB, you will report directly to the Head of CIB and HBEU Data Management, playing a crucial role in overseeing the implementation of the Group Data Strategy, compliance with the Data Risk Policy and supporting frameworks and adherence to local regulatory data requirements. As a part of the wider CIB and HBEU data team, you will be required to raise the profile of data locally, highlighting its importance to the bank and our colleagues whilst encouraging everyone to focus on, and strengthen, data quality and develop their data skills and literacy. Your responsibilities will include aligning local initiatives to a rigorous and consistent approach to manage and protect Data in line with associated risks. The ideal candidate will possess experience in working in data management related projects, strong communication skills and stakeholder management and effective decision making, influencing and problem-solving skills.  
The role holder is expected to
•	Develop the data strategy for CIB Switzerland (HBCH) with a strong focus on HSBC Data policies, supporting frameworks and local regulations e.g. FADP, Operational Resilience, BCBS 239, etc.  
•	Manage the implementation of HSBC data governance and quality guidelines, procedures, and methods, ensuring ongoing good practices in the management of data tools (e.g. Data Visa, Collibra, etc.), standards, frameworks and templates, including ensuring high data quality, consistency, accuracy and completeness across CIB Switzerland. 
•	Create and govern relationships between data elements across different systems.
•	Manage and monitor operational risk in the field of data management.
•	Work with COO/CRO/CFO/Legal regarding regulatory deliverables (alignment to policy, input into responses, driving work required outcomes) incl. EWRA exercise.
•	Ensure clear and timely awareness and/or escalation of emerging risks and issues to local senior management and wider to CIB and HBEU data team, as required. 
•	Drive buy-in and alignment to the Group Data Strategy locally, operating as the most senior data SME for CIB Switzerland and delivering data-related training as required to ensure staff awareness of data literacy principles.
•	Collaborate with and support business stakeholders to ensure data practices comply with regulations of the entity.
•	Set up data-related processes, procedures and controls, acting as local data control owner and completing required data risk assessments, oversee risk appetite and drive closure of control gaps through continuus monitoring and resolution of KCIs / MSIIs / Audit Issues.
What you’ll do
•	Operate as the most senior data SME for CIB Switzerland.
•	Cascade key messages from Head of CIB and HBEU Data and Analytics to entity GBGF and senior management.
•	Lead for providing ongoing engagement with stakeholders to ensure buy-in and alignment to Group Data Strategy. This includes entity GBGF stakeholders, Third Party vendors and wider CIB and HBEU data team and market/regional leads. 
•	Secure sufficient funding for the execution of agreed data deliverables within entity and support the prioritisation of funding. 
•	Anticipate local regulatory and audit requirement and develop proactive plans and proposals
•	Ensure compliance and position data as a strategic asset.
