Significant effort has already been made towards the iWPB strategy to deliver exceptional products, service, and experiences to our customers. iWPB Tech Digital Platforms enable all Value Streams and markets to bring their journeys to HSBC customers safely, efficiently at speed and at scale. (Mobile, DEP and SaaP) represent the front door to HSBC WPB across our global markets such that 40m customers can bank safely and securely with us. Without these platforms our customers cannot interact with HSBC for any of their digital retail banking needs.
Reporting into the Head of Digital Infrastructure Services and Operations, the Head of Digital Infrastructure Services - EMEA, is responsible for managing and directing the infrastructure services to VS/SVS, ensuring high availability, performance and security of the IT systems in line with company’s goals. The responsibilities of the role will include establishing a digital environment, support strategic planning, support automation initiatives towards efficiency leverage, operations management, risk and governance and collaboration with various stakeholders. This role involves strategic planning, operational management, and collaboration with various stakeholders to maintain and improve the Digital IT infrastructure. The position will work in partnership with Value Streams Leads to drive the best outcomes of our Digital Platform performance to include Infrastructure as Code best practices, ensuring a best in industry end-to-end experience and uptime of the services for our customers.
What you’ll do
- Provide support and leadership across a globally dispersed population of Digital Infra engineers embedded in a variety of agile teams around resilience, availability and performance of critical systems and services.
- Provide technical leadership and holding relationships with architecture, platforms and Value Streams to influence and agree approaches to ways of working, tooling and other design principles.
- Work with Platform Value Stream Leads, providing oversight in driving resiliency and Platform stability across the Engineering landscape.
- Robust security measures ensuring all digital assets and Infrastructure are protected and help safeguards against cyber security threats and data breaches
- Manage an effective relationship across WPB VS/SVS, including third-party vendor and business relationships to ensure successful uptime and efficient cost management.
- Create and manages strong and trusted working relationship inside and outside of WPB through strong relationships within the broader HSBC group and leverage SRE activities and read across for HSBC.
- IWPB Enabler Platforms representation in relevant technology and business executive forums that are focused on Security, resiliency, services stability, controls adherence and risk forums
- Work across Value Streams to leverage engineering capabilities from within Value Streams to drive improvements in Digital Infrastructure services and Operations efficiencies.
- Provide senior management representation for Enabler Platforms and WPB.
What you need to have to succeed in this role
- Proven track record of success in senior technology leadership roles within complex financial services companies and involvement in complex technology transformations. • Deep technical expertise in software development life cycle, architecture, and infrastructure, with hands-on experience in building scalable, high-performance systems.
- Tooling and Platforms - Terraform, Git Hub, Ansible, Jenkins, Service now, server patching - OS, networking, scripting automation, logging monitoring - Splunk, App D.
- Outstanding Technology leader with at least 20 years of experience in field who is passionate about driving the business agenda.
- Ability to understanding the relationship between application design, data and infrastructure.
- Large scale and complex enterprise planning capabilities.
- Understanding of infrastructure as a code and software development methodologies and best practices.
- Demonstrable success in understanding and delivering towards customer needs in large, complex organizations.
- Knowledge of relevant tools and platforms (e.g., cloud platforms, web technologies, client-server technologies, continuous integration, and deployment), with an eagerness to learn about new and unfamiliar technologies.
