Regional Sustainability & Reputational Risk team is a sub function of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) within Group Risk and Compliance. Its purpose is to make sure HSBC actively manages reputational risk to maintain stakeholder trust. Perceptions of HSBC may vary between stakeholders and across geographies and time, making reputational risk subjective and dynamic. Managing reputational risk can therefore involve trade-offs.
The team is responsible for ensuring that reputational risks are identified, escalated, mitigated and decisional in a proportionate and timely manner, and that clients meet agreed risk appetite and strategy and where necessary are effectively monitored or exited through the CSEM (Client Selection and Exit Management) process.
What you’ll do
• Provision of advice and support to the business with regard to the preparation and final review of high quality Reputational Risk papers for HCIB committee for HCIB clients.• Provide advisory services to the front line for all reputational risk concerns faced by the bank in relation to HCIB clients including transactions and proposed on-boarding requests.• Provide support to the regional lead for sustainability risk including assisting in reviewing sustainable finance proposals and sustainability risk ratings.• Coordinate day-to-day stakeholders across Risk, Financial Crime, Compliance and RMF component owners—socialising proposals, agreeing scope and timelines, resolving gaps, and securing approvals to enable implementation at pace.• Lead delivery through a small, flexible team, translating Regional Sustainability & Reputational Risk priorities into clear workplans, managing capacity, adapting to changing demand, and maintaining quality, control discipline and timelines.• Coordinate stakeholder engagement and communications, producing clear briefings and decision papers tailored for technical, business and senior audiences, and representing Regional Sustainability & Reputational Risk to internal stakeholders).• Operationalize horizon scanning by maintaining emerging risk and themes logs, consolidating internal/external inputs, and providing concise, evidence-based insights with recommended actions and proportionate escalations.• Execute oversight and challenge of 1LoD risk and control owners across entities/markets—validating adoption of standards, processes and procedures (including attestations/artefacts), identifying gaps, agreeing remediation, and escalating material issues in a timely manner.
What you need to have to succeed in this role
• Strong understanding of the impact of risk management within HSBC Group, including commercial context and strategic ambitions.• Good knowledge of the relevant regulatory landscape, with the ability to assess the impact of proposed regulatory changes—especially those pertaining to risk management.• Strong understanding of the impact of risk management within HSBC Group, including commercial context and strategic ambitions.• Good knowledge of CIB products and experience with 1LoD is beneficial.
What we offer
The pay range for this role is14383 PLN -21575 PLN (monthly, gross).
Variable pay is discretionary, but influenced by Group performance, business/function performance and individual performance.
