Your career opportunity
The Product Owner primarily supports Group Data Strategy. The role will be responsible for the managing the gaining of insight into customer needs in order to direct the Group Data Catalogue product vision of what Technology is to build.
The Product Owner is the Agile team member primarily responsible for maximizing the value delivered by the team by ensuring that the team backlog is aligned with stakeholder needs.
This role serves as the ‘voice of the customer’ and manages the product development process.  They gather feature requests, schedule releases, and coordinates sprints. They work closely with cross-functional teams, identify user needs, and ensure the product meets customer needs.

Objectives of this role:
·        Lead team scrums to define product vision, roadmap and growth opportunities and communicate with stakeholders throughout the project
·        Collaborate with internal and external contacts to analyze needs and align product roadmap to the strategic roadmap goals
·        Work closely with Product Managers and business teams to create and maintain product backlog according to the business value or ROI
·        Remain up to date on trends and best practices for agile management

What you’ll do
Plan and prioritize product development and product feature backlog
Develop detailed product feature specificatipns and ensure they are understood by relevant teams
Assess value, develop use cases, and prioritize stories, features, and themes to ensure work aligns with the product strategy
Mitigate roadblocks to achieving sprint/release goals
Lead the product-release plans and set expectations for delivery of new functionalities
Serve as a product ambassador internally and externally, sharing knowledge and answering question
Liase between technology and customers to track and manage backlog of related questions (ie. reference data, architectural design, functionality, etc)  

What you need to have to succeed in this role
3–5+ years of experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager, preferably in data or platform products.
Proven experience delivering enterprise-grade platforms, ideally data catalogues, metadata systems, or data governance tools (e.g., Collibra, DataHub, Informatica, Atlan).
Understanding of data catalogue use cases: data discovery, lineage, data ownership, classification, usage tracking.
Deep familiarity with data governance frameworks, metadata management, and data stewardship principles.
Understanding of metadata ingestion mechanisms (connectors, crawlers, APIs) and integrations with tools.
Strong experience engaging with senior business stakeholders, including data owners, data stewards, and compliance.
Ability to align the data catalog vision with the group’s data strategy.
Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies, backlogs, roadmaps, and prioritization techniques.
