Screening Utility Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the processes related to transaction screening for international sanctions compliance. This role involves developing, implementing, and refining procedural frameworks to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
What you’ll do
- Oversee and optimise transaction screening processes to support international sanctions compliance and operational efficiency.
- Develop, implement and refine procedural frameworks aligned to regulatory requirements and industry best practice.
- Drive regional quality initiatives by critically reviewing alert investigations to improve throughput and investigation quality.
- Build strong partnerships with FCC across regions and sites, focusing on throwbacks, audit findings and continuous improvement actions.
- Ensure quality targets are met, including accurate referrals and RFIs, timely escalations, and effective alert rectification.
- Lead and coordinate intelligence research on emerging risks, sharing insights and training FCC Operations teams accordingly.
- Create and manage formal Meet The Expert sessions with Regional TS and NAMS teams to strengthen knowledge and consistency.
- Champion GPS Ops initiatives, using Idea Hub to generate and deliver ideas that add measurable value to process and business outcomes.
What you need to have to succeed in this role
- Proven experience of 3+ years in sanctions screening, compliance, financial crime prevention, or risk management within banking or financial services.
- In-depth knowledge of international sanctions regulations and frameworks including OFAC, EU, UN and UK sanctions.
- Experience developing and optimising procedures and controls for transaction screening and sanctions compliance.
- Strong understanding of screening technologies, watchlist management, and industry best practices.
- Familiarity with regulatory expectations and audit requirements for financial institutions.
- Sound understanding of HSBC’s environment including FCC regulations, organisational structures, business drivers, and Group and business strategy.
- Proficient knowledge of payments and name screening, with advanced knowledge of German screening process specifications.
- Ability to articulate change benefits to stakeholders and build high-level business cases using financial and change management fundamentals.

The pay range for this role is 10167 PLN – 13175 PLN (monthly, gross).
Variable pay is discretionary, but influenced by Group performance, business/function performance and individual performance.
