The GCIO Chief Control Office (CCO) team plays an important role in enabling the bank to operate within its risk appetite by ensuring efficient and effective risk and control management. We do this by providing operational risk and control expertise, specialist technical knowledge and a deep understanding of the businesses and functions we serve.
Key activities include implementation and oversight of the Group’s Risk Management Framework, ongoing and targeted controls assessments, implementing and maintaining robust risk governance, and championing a proactive risk culture. GCIO CCO works closely with partners across all lines of defense and is responsible for maintaining positive relationships with our regulators and external partners.
GCIO CCO Shared Services Team will work on improvement of existing ways of working, tools and processes for risk and control management
What you’ll do
- Oversee the end-to-end delivery of MI and reporting services, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timeliness across operational outputs are met
- Coordination of work for teams responsible for production, validation, and distribution of regular and ad-hoc reports to internal stakeholders and senior leadership
- Act as a key point of contact for senior stakeholders, 2LoD ensuring clear communication of insights, risks, and reporting changes
- Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce manual reporting efforts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Quality Assurance Data Engineers and Technology to ensure alignment of reporting with business needs and governance standards.
- Monitor data quality and reporting controls, addressing discrepancies, errors, or emerging risks in operational data.
- Create and maintain documentation, processes for relevant areas
What you need to have to succeed in this role
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience with one or more or the control capabilities in the Technology and Cyber domain either directly or as a 1/2/3LOD control management function
- Understanding of Risk and Control Management concepts, Key Control Indicators, Key Risk Indicators and Key Performance indicators and their use in Technology Risk and Control management.
- Previous experience of identifying, defining and solving problems that have impact on your work or the wider business
- Previous experience leading teams required with remote team leadership experience preferred
- Flexible and adaptable, able to handle and prioritise competing demands in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills to influence and challenge stakeholders.
