The purpose of the Senior KYC Specialist role is to provide robust support and advice to the Front Office by reviewing FCC/KYC information on existing PBUK clients to ensure compliance with CDD procedures, Global Standards and specifically Source of Wealth narrative and corroboration. The role focuses on ensuring all client CDD records meet the current standards.
The job holder will develop standards for ensuring that the above is achieved efficiently and consistently, through strong attention to detail, communication, and critical thinking skills. The role aims at fostering a positive and productive work environment that promotes self-discipline, collaboration, and continuous process improvement in a fast-paced Client Lifecycle Management (CLM) function of PBUK.
The Senior KYC Specialist will report to the PBUK CLM CDD Enhancement Team Manager and work alongside the established Onshore and Offshored CLM Team, partnering closely with Front Office Relationship Managers, Risk & Compliance, Operations, and Regional CLM counterparts. The role holder may be required to attend internal/external meetings/calls to explain the Bank’s requirements.
A good understanding and working knowledge of KYC/CDD processes and compliance with AML, FIM, Audit and FCA requirements are compulsory.
This role is 24-months contract.

What you’ll do
    • Lead by example as a collaborative team player, sharing best practices and helping set high performance standards.
    • Manage your own workload and time effectively to meet daily/monthly productivity targets and SLAs.
    • Work independently with strong initiative, proactively seeking support to build knowledge and improve case processing.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, adopting a consistently helpful and professional approach.
    • Keep procedural knowledge up to date and complete all mandatory training on time (including KYC/CDD requirements).
    • Adhere to HSBC and regulatory operational risk and compliance controls (FIM-aligned), escalating control weaknesses and operational deficiencies promptly.
    • Identify and mitigate CDD/AML/Sanctions risks, including resolving discrepancies between customer documentation and system profiles.
    • Communicate issues, findings, and solutions clearly and succinctly, taking ownership through to resolution while acting in line with HSBC values.


What you need to have to succeed in this role
    • University degree in a relevant discipline (preferred).
    • 2-3 years’ compulsory experience in CDD, AML, regulatory compliance, and KYC controls within banking/financial services.
    • Strong understanding of Private Banking, with experience in Compliance, Audit, Operational Risk, or a legal background (desirable).
    • Proven capability to assess legal entity clients from simple to complex, including multi-layered ownership structures.
    • Experience working with legal documentation; tax knowledge is an advantage.
    • Highly analytical and detail-focused, with strong problem-solving skills, accuracy, and personal accountability.
    • Able to work independently and collaboratively across all levels, remaining client- and solution-oriented under time/volume pressure.
    • Strong communication and presentation skills; confident using MS Office and relevant systems (e.g., SharePoint, Microsoft Dynamics), with Avaloq/Appway knowledge desirable.

The pay range for this role is 9684 PLN - 14525 PLN (monthly, gross).

Variable pay is discretionary, but influenced by Group performance, business/function performance and individual performance.
