Your career opportunity
The role is within the Frontline Enablement & Marketing Technology team, which is part of the CIB Technology division providing IT solutions and support for Corporate and Institutional Banking business areas globally. You will be responsible for maintaining a delivery-orientated approach to developing the applications and their supporting software & data infrastructure, as well as managing releases and support existing systems.  


What you’ll do
    • Work independently and as part of a team to design, develop, test and implement web-based Java applications.
    • Suggest, design and implement best practices.
    • Build and lead a department-wide community of React developers.
    • Mentor other members of the team and wider department, providing expertise, guidance and knowledge transfer.
    • Delivery well structured, maintainable and fully tested systems to time and budget.
    • Follow HSBC IT development methodologies, corporate information security and corporate website look & feel guidance to ensure successful project delivery with strict adherence to coding practices and the production of all necessary documentation.
    • Initiation and implementation of productivity and quality initiatives.
    • Manage and co-ordinate software releases through to Production.


What you need to have to succeed in this role
    • Outstanding knowledge and experience on HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Typescript with extensive experience on ReactJS 16.x. Practical experience working on React-specific UI libraries, including D3.js. 
    • Strong knowledge of React Hooks, React Redux, Web sockets, etc. 
    • Experience implementing Micro-frontends.  
    • Good experience on Unit testing using Jest.
    • Able to build interactive UI components, e.g. buttons and charts.
    • Demonstrable record of innovation and leadership. Good deadline management and communication for delays and issues.
    • Comfortable operating in an Agile development team, self-starting, motivated.
    • Good communication skills both written and verbal.


Nice to have:
    • Experience working with AG-Grid, RadixUI libraries.
    • Knowledge of Qlik Sense and associated API/web socket integration.
    • Experience of using Jira/Jenkins/Ansible for automated deployments.
    • Github or other automated source code control and release software.
    • Knowledge of MI reporting platforms.
