We’re seeking a skilled Traded Risk professional, to join the Global Risk team. The role’s main purpose is to support HSBC enhance the control environment for Traded Risk processes with focus on Regulatory Reporting and Internal Risk management processes.
Our Global Risk function oversees a comprehensive risk management framework that is applied throughout the Group. This responsibility includes establishing global policy, monitoring risk profiles, and identifying and managing forward-looking risk. Global Risk is made up of sub-functions covering all risks to our business.

The Opportunity:
The Traded Risk Control manager will be part of the Traded Risk Internal Control Office which oversees the control environment and supports ongoing control monitoring for the Traded Risk department.
The person will responsible to making sure that HSBC has an effective control Management framework globally in line with HSBC standards and the Risk target operating model.
What you’ll do:
- Ensure that Traded Risk embeds an effective Control Management framework globally in line with FIM standards and the Risk target operating model.
- Acting as risk and control SME for the function. Ensure management understanding and oversight of risks, controls meets Group’s Non-Financial Risk requirements.
- Facilitating the raising of Management Self-Identified Issues and act as central point of contact for Audit.
- Assisting the department to develop Risk & Control Assessments. Facilitating annual RCA workshops and ensuring RCAs are kept up to date and are embedded within the department.
- Ensure Continuous Monitoring in Traded Risk is effectively performed at required the RMF standards and assist Control Owners in their duties in that respect.
- Ensure processes within the Control Management function are efficient, robust and well-documented. Actively seek ways of improving processes and achieving efficiencies.
Qualifications
What you will need to succeed in the role:
- Robust Knowledge of Global Markets asset classes, Rates, Foreign Exchange, Equities and Credit products.
- Experience with Traded Risk management, systems and methodologies.
- Strong understanding of Non-Financial Risk frameworks.
- Influential skills to drive and steer necessary risk changes to meet expectations.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to work with different profiles and stakeholders.
- Skilful on data analysis and data handling.
- Strong analytical background and proven ability in analytical rigor, including being able to contextualise data into business activities and conclusions
- Proven ability in working across multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural diverse work environments
- Proven ability to meet tight deadlines.
