Your career opportunity:
The Chief Technology Office (CTO) manages IT services and infrastructure critical for HSBC employees and customers, such as compute platforms, storage, database, data centers, voice, video and data networks, infrastructure security, cloud hosted infrastructure, contact centre and end user services such as collaboration and workspace technologies.
The role will be responsible for working across CTO Areas to lead operations management support in vendor management and executing initiatives which deliver strategic objectives.
What you’ll do:
- Work closely with Global Area Leads, Heads of Operations Management, Procurement, Cost and Contract Managers and wider teams/stakeholders to deliver common objectives in 3rd party space
- Ensure renewals/pipeline is managed with sufficient time to scrutinise and/or make changes
- Analyse options and support the development of Business Cases
- Review existing contracts – assess SLA’s and other T&C’s to ensure vendor service is meeting requirements
- Process improvement across the end-to-end pipeline management and reviews through to approvals
- Working with Operations Management representatives and Finance to identify, plan and execute cost optimisations initiatives
- Ensure alignment of key parties to agree objectives and support the development of the Tech/Business strategy to deliver
- Provide 3rd party requirements and support Procurement with commercial negotiation, assessment, and deal structuring
What you need to have to succeed in this role:
- Proven track record (5+ years) in technology vendor management role within the financial services industry
- Strong understanding of Technology landscape, industry and operational management requirements for banks and knowledge of the external environment - regulatory, political, competitor and market
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information and make data-driven decisions to drive business outcomes
- Ability to translate technology strategy and align with vendors accordingly
- Strong stakeholder management capability and excellent communication at all levels of seniority
- Experience in development of business cases, initiative execution, and benefits realisation
- Deep financial and commercial awareness
- Contract knowledge and able to design contracts to meet the requirements of the business
