The position lies within the Cash Equities in Market Operations. The job holder is responsible to support middle office activities specifically in the broker matching space. This role includes managing primary objective of driving operational excellence across our business globally.

The Opportunity:

  • The Broker Matching Analyst will support the Sector, Program Trading and Sales desks for the Cash Equities business.

  • The role holder covers day to day management responsibilities of the Broker Matching team is responsible for matching inward broker confirmations with HSBC bookings.   

  • The role holder acts as the point of contact for the trading desk and liaison with internal departments (client service, front / middle office, settlements, finance etc.).

  • As a result, you support the equity franchise with their institutional clients on a daily basis and reduce risk and escalate when necessary.

What you’ll do:

  • Manage the communications with the desk for Equity trades - handle Client queries and escalations.

  • Process the inward broker confirmations.

  • Monitor and complete query management system.

  • Accurate recording of all issues / disputes during pre-matching.

Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:

  • Able to demonstrate the mind set and maturity to operate in a fast-paced environment.

  • Awareness and appreciation to operations risk and control and exception management.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with clients/stakeholders.

  • Attention to detail and a hands-on approach to identify opportunities of process improvement.

  • Follow formal escalation framework across all aspects of Operations i.e. operational and systemic related risks.

What additional skills will be good to have?

  • Flexibility to work in hybrid shifts if needed.

  • A degree in Business or Finance would be preferred.

  • Ability to multi-task and support multiple stakeholders.

  • Able to work in a demanding and time sensitive environment.
