The Data Analytics and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) team is an integral part of the WPB business of Hang Seng, critical in driving scaled commercialisation of data and insights relevant to the business and to our customers. We aspire to be the anchor of WPB data insights derived from both big and smart data, machine learning and deep learning models and AI applications, to facilitate deeper and broader customer relationships and supporting the growth of the WPB business. We deliver one-stop solutions and capabilities across data engineering, visualised MI, business analytics, data science, and client messaging and communications across all WPB customer segments, products and channels.

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Head of AI and Data Applications, reporting to Head of Data Analytics and Customer Relationship Management.

Principal responsibilities

  • Manage the AI development & deployment for Wealth and Personal Banking (WPB) business from both capabilities and use case perspective to ensure Hang Seng stays abreast with the white-hot AI competition
  • Lead commercialization of data & AI capabilities in WPB business lines
  • Support efficient data-driven decision making via creative visualization and data provision
  • Drive data & AI enabled hyper-personalization in customer interactions & mastermind an effective & efficient customer 360 framework
  • Partner with senior data / AI leads in HK pillar, IT and IWPB to ensure the best execution of data/AI/GenAI portfolio for WPB
  • Manage onshore/offshore talents to deliver data & AI strategy
  • Maintain high level of integrity and quality standard of data/AI development, ensure compliance with internal governance and external regulations
Requirements
  • Proven experience in big data, data science, and/or AI/GenAI fields with first-hand knowledge and exposure of end-to-end data & AI product development (i.e., not only in a managerial role but experience should cover development/delivery role)
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a highly quantitative/data-oriented major, incl. data science, statistics, operation research, computer science and/or equivalent.
  • Experience and knowledge in financial service industry especially in retail banking
  • Track record of managing a significant portfolio of data / AI delivery under challenging time, to relentlessly prioritize, and to make right investment decisions balancing benefit, risk and cost
  • Experience in senior stakeholder management and budget management 
  • Strong leadership skills, communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage resources under direct management & within influence scope to delivery quality data/AI products
  • Professional qualifications such as Enhanced Competency Framework (ECF) and/or Certified Banker (CB) under Hong Kong Institute of Bankers
